Zaha Hadid Architects to design a crystalline skyscraper for Trojena
Saudi Arabia is getting another magnificent skyscraper.
Neom, the futuristic megaproject in Saudi Arabia, is all set to redefine luxury living with a stunning new addition. Zaha Hadid Architects, a renowned UK-based studio, has unveiled plans for a breathtaking 330-meter-tall skyscraper in Trojena. This architectural marvel will be a part of the Trojena ski resort, promising to be a crystal-like structure, complete with unique features that will leave you in awe.
Perched 2,721 meters above sea level, Discovery Tower will rise 341 meters high and is nestled on a snow-capped mountain, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape — including an artificial lake that’s sure to be a centrepiece of this development. The crystal-like appearance of this tower, created through a network of columns gracefully tapers towards the peak, seamlessly connecting to the lakeside by a cable car.
While full details of the tower’s specific functions are yet to be disclosed, it promises a multifaceted experience for all who choose to visit. Apart from being an architectural marvel, this tower is slated to have a variety of amenities, including shops, restaurants, and exhibition spaces. Moreover, it will feature observation decks at three different levels, allowing visitors to soak in the stunning views of Neom’s surroundings.
Now this isn’t Zaha Hadid Architects’ first stint in the Middle East. They are the brains behind ME Dubai, the Sheikh Zayed Bridge in Abu Dhabi, and Al Janoub Stadium in Qatar, which hosted several of FIFA 2022 World Cup matches. With their innovative designs and commitment to pushing boundaries, it’s no surprise that they’ve been entrusted with this exciting addition to Neom’s skyline.
As Neom continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible in urban development, the addition of this new tower by Zaha Hadid Architects is sure to set a new standard for luxury and innovation.
