The new route opens up travel between Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province and the UK capital.
Come November 2025, Saudia will introduce its first-ever direct route between King Fahd International Airport in Dammam and London Heathrow. The long-awaited service is set to enhance air connectivity between Saudi Arabia and the UK, answering growing demand for a non-stop link between the two key destinations.
Launched in partnership with the Air Connectivity Program (ACP) and Dammam Airports Company (DACO), the new route will operate three times per week, positioning Dammam as the fifth Saudi city with direct access to London, alongside Jeddah, Riyadh, Medina, and Neom Bay.
For Dammam, a vital hub for the Kingdom’s oil, gas, and industrial sectors, the route is more than just a travel upgrade. In 2024, the city was identified as London’s largest unserved Middle Eastern market, with around 73,000 round-trip passengers, 85 per cent of whom flew via Heathrow using one-stop connections through neighbouring Gulf and European airports. The high passenger volume, coupled with strong cargo demand, signals major potential for the route.
Flights will depart Dammam at 4pm and arrive in London Heathrow at 8:30pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, with a flight time of seven hours and thirty minutes. Return journeys will depart London at 10:15pm and arrive in Dammam at 7:55am the following day on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The route will be serviced by the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, known for its fuel efficiency and long-haul comfort.
Saudia, the national airline of Saudi Arabia, has grown into one of the Middle East’s leading carriers since its launch in 1945. Saudia connects passengers to over 140 destinations across Asia, Europe, Africa, and North America. With business ties growing and tourism on the rise, Saudia’s latest route offers a timely and convenient link between East Saudi and the British capital.
