Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coastline has another address for your travel wish list. Raffles Hotels & Resorts has announced the debut of Raffles The Red Sea, a resort on the northwestern shores of Shura Island. Set between a lagoon and the open sea, the property combines waterfront accommodation with the brand’s signature butler service and a programme rooted in Saudi culture.

Part of Foster + Partners’ Coral Bloom masterplan, the resort takes its design cues from the island itself. Coastal colours and textured interiors complement the views, while gardens, terraces and walking routes keep the water in sight.

The accommodation comprises 121 rooms, 14 suites and 33 private pool villa residences, catering to couples, families and larger groups travelling together. Rooms have private terraces overlooking the lagoon or sea, while suites offer more space to move between indoors and outdoors. Raffles Butler Service extends across every accommodation category, adding a personal point of contact throughout each stay.

Food lovers will have five restaurants and lounges to explore as the dining programme opens in phases. Ni’ma will serve Eastern Mediterranean sharing dishes throughout the day, while Siparaja looks to Singapore’s diverse food traditions and the brand’s origins. The seaside lounge El Nay will pair Pan-Arabic mezze with Saudi tea, artisanal coffee and shisha.

At Anbara, afternoon tea takes a regional turn through Arabian flavours with pastries served beside the water. The Pool Bar completes the line-up.

Wellbeing facilities are also being introduced in stages. Raffles Spa and Wellness and the adults’ pool will open in a future phase. Plans include seven treatment rooms, a hammam, sauna, steam facilities, a vitality pool and an outdoor lap pool, alongside private wellness rituals. For now, guests can use the gym and explore the island’s padel and water sports activities.

A dedicated Raffles Curator will guide the cultural programme, connecting guests with local art, literature, storytelling and craftsmanship. Children’s and teens’ centres are scheduled to follow later, with activities tailored to different age groups.

There is plenty to discover beyond the resort, too. Shura Links is Saudi Arabia’s first 18-hole island golf course, while the marina and Marina Village offer further dining, shopping and opportunities to explore. WAMA provides water sports, Galaxea focuses on diving and marine discovery, and Akun offers activities on land.
