The adults-only wellness resort opens on Shura Island.
Miraval Resorts & Spas is heading to Saudi Arabia. Miraval The Red Sea will open on Shura Island, with bookings available from 15 May 2026. The arrival marks the brand’s first resort outside the United States and brings its signature approach to mindfulness, wellbeing and personal transformation to one of the region’s most talked-about tourism destinations.
Located between desert, sea and mangrove forests on Saudi Arabia’s west coast, the adults-only retreat has been designed as a place to slow down. Rooted in Miraval’s 30-year philosophy of mindful living, the resort invites guests to “live a life in balance” through immersive experiences, spa therapies, cultural activities and nourishing cuisine. The launch marks the US-founded brand’s first property outside the United States and strengthens the line-up of resorts arriving as part of the Kingdom’s flagship Red Sea regenerative tourism development.

Serene stays
Miraval The Red Sea features 180 guestrooms, suites and villas, each integrated into the natural landscape of Shura Island. The resort has been designed by Foster + Partners, with interiors by Rockwell Group, drawing on the textures and tones of the surrounding environment. Think coral-inspired forms, desert shades, natural stone, warm woods, woven textures and mineral finishes. A contemplative labyrinth sits at the heart of the resort, offering a dedicated space for walking meditation and quiet reflection.
Guests can create personalised itineraries with the help of expert Experience Planners. The programme includes Arabic calligraphy, heritage storytelling, perfume creation, desert stargazing, zip lining, kayaking and paddleboarding. Each activity has been shaped to encourage connection, creativity and a sense of presence.

Holistic healing
The Life in Balance Spa is set to be one of the resort’s biggest draws. Spanning 40,000 square feet, it is the largest dedicated spa on Shura Island and features 39 indoor and outdoor treatment rooms. Miraval’s signature therapies are complemented by Saudi-inspired rituals, including hammam bathing, desert scrubs and restorative treatments.

Mindful meals
Dining also forms a central part of the experience. Rosemary offers a plant-forward menu focused on seasonal ingredients, while Palm Court Café serves lighter bites throughout the day. Coral Cove moves from coastal dining to evening sharing plates, while the Life in Balance Culinary Kitchen hosts workshops covering Saudi coffee rituals, non-alcoholic mixology, mindful sushi-making and locally inspired tastings.

“Miraval The Red Sea has been thoughtfully designed as a place of transformation,” said Juan Paolo Alfonso, General Manager, Miraval The Red Sea. “Every element of the guest journey has been created to support deeper connection, presence, and personal growth, while embracing the traditions, landscapes, and cultural richness of the region. Opening the first Miraval destination outside of the U.S. in Saudi Arabia is both a privilege and a responsibility, and we are proud to introduce a wellness experience that reflects the Kingdom’s extraordinary natural heritage and resonates with the region’s longstanding spirit of hospitality, setting a new global standard for mindful luxury.”
Opening rates start from SAR 4,250 per night, based on double occupancy. The offer includes a curated meal plan, group wellness programming, round-trip shuttle transfers from Red Sea International Airport, a nightly resort credit of SAR 700 per person and 25 per cent savings on room rates.
