Ex-Outlawz rapper Mutah Beale opens Q On Da Go in Riyadh

The casual concept specialises in beef, glorious beef.

It’s not often that you hear about an American rapper moving to Saudi Arabia. Mutah Beale, previously known as Napolean, was part of Tupac’s rap group Outlawz. He is behind the capital’s MW Café and the FACT Award winner Smokey Beards Q, and has now opened a new concept: Q On Da Go.

Located in Al Olaya, Q On Da Go sounds like a spin-off of his original concept, Smokey Beards Q. The restaurant, like London’s Burger & Lobster and Riyadh’s Marble, specialises in a handful of menu items prepared to perfection. The menu at Q On Da Go features a Boneless Brisket Sirloin Sandwich, Cheese Fries, Coleslaw, French Fries, Fries with Cheese and Brisket, Mac and Cheese and Potato Salad. The bountiful brisket burgers can be topped with a generous pouring of Barbecue, Cheese or Mushroom sauce.

Mutah shared a video of the new concept on his Instagram page, which shows a small industrial space featuring concrete walls, brick counters and exposed ducting, resulting in a chic and causal industrial space.

Mutah hails from New Jersey and joined Outlawz in 1995. The group featured on Tupac’s albums Still I Rise and Makeveli. In 2000, they released their first album, Ride wit Us or Collide wit Us. Mutah later moved from New Jersey to Saudi Arabia and converted to Islam. He has welcomed famous faces to his restaurant. In October 2023, Kanye West was photographed at Smokey Beards Q with Mutah.

Q On Da Go isn’t the only new concept from the rapper-turned-restaurateur. Two additional concepts are currently under construction next to Q On Da Go. The new eateries are casual and easy to spot due to the illuminated logos. Okla is a smash burger joint and Sonny’s will serve hot Nashville chicken.

Mutah shared on social media: “Our three new restaurant brands. Slow progress is better than no progress, follow us on the gram. May Allah place barakah in it.”

Q On Da Go is open Monday to Saturday, from 7pm until 1am.
