Kuuru is opening in the capital this weekend

Jeddah’s FACT award winning Nikkei restaurant is making its way to KAFD.

Just days after placing at number 50 on MENA’s 50 Best Restaurants list, Kuuru has announced its long-awaited opening date in Riyadh. Having set Jeddah alight with its funky fusion cuisine, the restaurant will be making its way to KAFD in the capital, opening its doors on Friday, 23 February.

This brainchild of Leylaty Group and MCK Hospitality brings  Nikkei cuisine to the Saudi table, offering an experience that transcends borders and ignites the senses. Riyadh residents will no longer need to pack their bags and hop on a plane to the Red Sea because the magic of Kuuru is coming to the capital.

Kuuru’s sharing-style menu is designed to bring people together. Start with an explosion of freshness at the raw bar, indulging in sashimi platters or savouring meticulously crafted nigiri, complemented by Peruvian spices and citrusy touches. The journey continues with the mains, where seared steaks mingle with chimichurri while the succulent lobster is served with aji amarillo cream.

Combining the flavours of Japan and Peru, the signature fusion dishes include Black Cod Criollo, Chicken Panca Truffle and Tiger Shrimp Anticuchero. The colourful plates are so stylish that you’ll want to snap them before you start – we’re not judging.

Beyond the food, the ambience is equally captivating. Modern design elements blend seamlessly with warm lighting, creating an inviting space that reflects the restaurant’s spirit. Whether you’re catching up with friends or celebrating a special occasion, Kuuru’s atmosphere sets the stage for an unforgettable evening.

But what truly sets Kuuru apart is its dedication to authenticity. The restaurant ensures the flavours remain true to their Peruvian roots while using fresh, local ingredients.

Kuuru

From Agio to Yauatcha, the Saudi Arabian capital is full of respectable restaurants. Kuuru joins the likes of the recently opened Carbone, Flamingo Room by tashas, and Mr Chow in putting Riyadh’s restaurant scene on the culinary map.

Having been named the ‘best restaurant in Jeddah’ at the FACT Dining Awards 2023, Kuuru brings together the lively flavours of Japan and Peru in a fusion feast that’s both a treat for the taste buds and a feast for the eyes.
