Riyadh’s coffee scene is causing a stir. The capital is brimming with new cafés, which range from the relaxed to refined. Whether you’re looking to catch up with friends, family or work remotely, there’s a coffee shop to suit your needs. Here are the best new cafés in Riyadh.  

A Place Bakehouse

Tucked away just off King Fahad Road, A Place Bakehouse is the current talk of the town. This charming cafe offers a calm and cosy refuge from the hustle and bustle of the capital. With its modern and fresh decor, clean aesthetic, and wooden tables adorned with ceramic accents, it exudes a welcoming vibe. The aroma of freshly baked croissants and eclairs fills the air, complemented by the allure of artisanal coffee.

Basementers Coffee

Nestled in Al Yasmin, Basementers Coffee is causing a stir amongst Riyadh residents. Located in Olaya, Cherie is a rustic gem offering stunning views of Faisaliah Tower. The industrial concrete setting creates a magical interplay of light and shadows, casting a unique charm over the space. But it’s not just about the aesthetics, Cherie shines bright on coffee, elevating the java experience. Plus, their dessert selection definitely deserves to be tried out.

CHō

CHō has a cute tagline: “The smile of nature”. The staff aim to put on a smile on your face with the coffees and cakes. The menu includes a Flat White, Matcha CHō and Spanish Latte. The cakes include a Carrot Cake, Honey Cake and Tiramisu Bites. CHō has gorgeous greenery, as the walls are lined with plants. Look out for the eye-catching art and books between pots. CHō is open daily from 4pm to midnight.

Cup To Go 

A name like Cup To Go lets you know this brand’s mission. When you want a pick-me-up, the venue serves coffee and cakes. The menu may be limited on drinks with only one hot and cold coffee option, but it prides itself on its swift service. Snacks include Brownies, Cinnamon Rolls, Cookies and Lemon Cake. Located in North Al Maather, it is open daily from 6am to 10pm.

ELCT

Spreading its sweet magic across various Riyadh neighbourhoods, ELCT is the place to be for decadent desserts. Plus, they serve a variety of hot beverages through walled taps to curb your cravings for caffeination. It’s a must-try experience. Oh, and did we mention they’ve got churros too?

Enekas 

Enekas has mastered sleek. The décor spans white and grey shades and includes metallic tables and long sofas. Even the cups are white with a silver embossed logo. Look out for the counter with funnels and jars, which feel like a science experiment. We’d recommend trying the Tirimasu, which is served in a giant slab and already popping up on social media accounts across the Kingdom. Located in Olaya, it is open from Saturday to Thursday from midday to 2am, and on Friday from 1.30pm to 2am.

Eya Coffee 

Nestled just off King Abdullah Road, Eya Speciality Coffee is a new hotspot in the capital. The must-try coffees here are the real MVPs — think velvety lattes, bold espressos, and refreshing cold brews. With wooden accents, textured mosaic marble floors, and a cosy touch of greenery, the ambience is as Instagrammable as the drinks.

Hakwah

If you love being first, then put Hawkwah on your coffee shop list. The new café in Riyadh has opened in As Sahafah. So far, we know that it serves a range of coffees and cookies. Plus, the tagline, “another coffee, another experience”, is something we are sure that Riyadh will love. The cute camel seating is Instagram-ready and double-tap worthy.

Hazza

Meet Hazza, the cosy haven in Malaz that boasts charming wooden doors and windows that transport you to old Saudi times. Step inside, and you’ll find a small yet inviting space — ideal for a quick grab-and-go or a peaceful spot for remote working. The simplicity of its Arabic-inspired decor adds to the allure, creating a calm atmosphere that’s perfect for both productivity and relaxation.

Heather 

When you want your coffee with a shot of chic, then head to Heather. Located in Al Aqiq, it boasts a minimalist aesthetic with beige, cream and white, and indoor as well as outdoor seats. The hot drinks include an Americano, Espresso and Spanish Latte, and cold drinks include Iced Hibiscus, Iced Matcha and Iced Tea Passion Fruit. The bakery serves a range of croissants and cakes in flavours including coconut, chocolate and honey. Heather is open from Sunday to Wednesday from 4pm to midnight, and Friday and Saturday from 4pm to 1am.

Locais 

ocais has become a firm favourite with coffee connoisseurs in the capital. Located on Abdallah bin Said Road, it is a sophisticated spot. The floor-to-ceiling windows let in lots of light, and it has a stone-washed look. Take your pick from seats inside, outside, upstairs and downstairs. The interior includes cute slogans like “live for the moment”. The café serves a range of hot drinks, and pastries include croissants, cakes and cookies. Locais is open daily from 7am to midnight.

Make Coffee 

Tucked away in Riyadh’s Abhar district, Make Coffee is the city’s latest caffeination sensation, having mastered the art of brewing the perfect cup. Picture cookies that melt in your mouth, desserts in a cup, and hearty sandwiches to kickstart your day. The ambience is cosy and comfy, with plush seating and rattan chairs that invite you to linger.

O2 Cafe 

O2 Café’s team are bringing a breath of fresh air to Riyadh’s coffee scene. So much so, the tagline states, “when oxygen meets coffee”. The concept brings the outdoors indoors – the design feels like a marketplace with green grass-like floor, baskets full of fruit and a white tree. The classic drinks include an Americano, Cortado and Flat White, and creative drinks range from a Saffron Latte to White Mocha. The drinks also include iced coffees and mojitos. Desserts cover Baklava Cheesecake, Kunafa Cheesecake and Target Tart. Located in Alwadi, it is open from Sunday to Wednesday from 2pm to 2am, Thursday from 2pm to 4am and Friday from 3pm to 4am.

Riyd 

Riyd is a cute yet classy coffee shop. What it lacks in size, it makes up for in its selection of coffees. We’re fans of the pastries with a local twist – date toppings, anyone? Located in Al Aqiq, you’ll spot the palm tree logo outside. The venue has a clean, contemporary look with floor-to-ceiling windows and a bright, airy feel. Take your pick from white seats and sofas. Riyd is open daily from 4pm to midnight.

Sada

Sada’s motto “coffee and life” is something we can get behind. The venue has a coffee community vibe – lookout for Insta-friendly slogans on the walls, and the Polaroid picture display of the staff. The venue has an industrial chic feel with exposed pipes and a skylight window. The white décor is punctuated by plants and lime green long table. Sada is open from Saturday to Thursday from 8am to midnight, and on Friday from 12.30pm to 1am.

Sajiah 

If you have a sweet tooth, then put Sajiah on your cafés in Riyadh radar. The drinks menu includes a special sweet section with an Affogato, Hibiscus Iced Tea and Sajiah Signature. The menu also includes classic hot drinks, from a Cortado to a Cappucino. The venue combines casual with chic with black and white tiled floors, white shelves with potted plants and sculptures and red and white walls. Located in King Fadh, it is open daily from 4pm to 1am.

Tarith 

Tarith is a real treat for sweet enthusiasts in An Narjis. Their soft serve is a game-changer, and the dessert selection is nothing short of delightful — whether you’re in the mood for sharing or solo indulgence. Tellus 

So many cafés in Riyadh are casual spots, but Tellus aims to elevate your coffee experience. The team label themselves as coffee roasters, and the menu features a wide selection of hot drinks. The venue has African touches, from colourful artwork to decorative cushions. The interiors feel so spacious, thanks to the cream aesthetic and floor-to-ceiling windows. Choose from wicker seats or long banquettes, and sip the day away. Located in Al Yasmin, it is open from Sunday to Wednesday from 6am to midnight, Thursday from 6am to 2am, Friday from 1pm to 2am and Saturday from 6am to midnight.

Tlado

Tlado is adding some hip to Hittin. This pit stop is mixing things up with its iced tea. The design is bright blue and the drinks are served in equally bright cups, which locals love to share on social. The venue is easy to spot, thanks to its neon sign. Tlado is open on Sunday from 8pm to 1.30am, from Monday to Saturday from 8pm to 2am.

Value

Value Cafe is a trendy new cafe nestled in Riyadh’s As Sahfah. Their menu boasts lattes, espressos, teas, tarts, and cakes that look set to redefine the average cafe experience. With high ceilings, the cosy seating bathed in a sunny glow promises a refreshing escape. The ambience encourages you to linger and soak in the vibes.
