Saudi Arabia’s hospitality landscape is evolving at a remarkable pace. From Neom’s futuristic visions to Riyadh’s ever-expanding skyline, much of the attention has been focused on major metropolitan areas. But now, the mountainous city of Abha is stepping into the spotlight with the arrival of Waldorf Astoria Abha.

The luxury hotel brand is officially making its way to Abha, bringing with it a new level of sophistication to the Aseer region. The news was announced by ARDARA, a PIF-backed real estate company, via LinkedIn, marking a key development in both Hilton’s expansion strategy in the Kingdom and the regional growth of high-end tourism.

The upcoming Waldorf Astoria Abha will form part of AlWadi, ARDARA’s newly unveiled lifestyle community. Billed as a premier residential and tourism destination, the mixed-use development will transform the area into a year-round retreat. While specifics on the architectural design are still under wraps, the hotel is expected to offer 180 keys, catering to luxury travellers, wellness seekers, and nature lovers alike.

AlWadi will also feature a collection of upscale hotels, 82 branded apartments and villas, expansive retail offerings, and public spaces designed to celebrate the natural beauty of the region. Expect serene walking trails, cycling paths, and access to some of the most picturesque views in the Kingdom, all while enjoying five-star service.

Located in the heart of the Aseer mountains, Abha offers a refreshing alternative to Saudi Arabia’s desert cities. With its cool climate, lush surroundings, and cultural heritage, Waldorf Astoria’s upcoming opening is poised to become one of the Kingdom’s most sought-after destinations.
