Saudi Arabia knows how to put on a season. The next season coming up in the Kingdom is Diriyah Season. Running from 1 November, it will bring together an exciting range of events and experiences, which are designed to bring to life the heritage of Diriyah.
This year’s Diriyah Season theme is “Where You Experience Legacy”, bringing a new identity to the season that sheds light on history, culture, arts, and innovation. Taking inspiration from Wadi Hanifah and from Diriyah’s historic significance, this edition will blend concepts of leadership, pride and generosity from a cultural lens.
Diriyah Season combines arts, culture, live performances and experiences, which aim to showcase the site’s six hundred years of history and Saudi hospitality. The event, which will feature more happenings than before, takes place across Diriyah’s parks, wadis, Bujairi Terrace and the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, At-Turaif. Expect over 10 programs to take place across these locations.
“All programs were designed to preserve the natural environment, enhance the region’s economic and tourism landscape, with a priority on empowering Saudi artisans and talents and attracting strategic partnerships with local and international institutions,” said Ahlam Al-Thunayan, director of the Diriyah Season. “There will be a range of knowledge-sharing, educational programs and various interactive and cultural activities.”
This year’s Diriyah Season will feature Layali Al Diriyah at Al-Murayih, where you can enjoy live music, cuisine, and art combined under the stars. You can also explore Souq Al Mawsim, which is a celebration of Saudi-Japanese heritage, and Minzal, which offers a luxury experience overlooking Wadi Safar. Other events on the agenda include the Tyn Festival and the Hal Al Qusoor exhibition at At Turaif, the Diriyah Storytelling Festival in Al Bujairi, Msalliyah and Al Huwayett in Adhwaihrah District, workshops in Samhan District, folk arts at Sada Al Wadi, and pop-ups at Zallal.
