The slogan for the event is “The City Reads”.
The Madinah International Book Fair 2025 has kicked off with the iconic slogan “The City Reads”. Running from 30 July to 4 August, it is the fourth edition of the event.
The Madinah International Book Fair is now open at the King Salman International Convention and Exhibition Centre. Supported by the Saudi Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, the event brings together over 300 publishing houses and agencies from across the Arab world and beyond. Entry to the fair is free, with opening hours from 2 pm to midnight.

The book fair offers a wealth of rich cultural and educational experiences for all attendees. Highlights include a vast collection of new titles across literature, science, knowledge, and Islamic studies. There is also a diverse cultural programme featuring seminars, dialogue sessions, poetry evenings, and creative workshops, joined by authors, thinkers, and prominent cultural figures. A dedicated book-signing corner allows authors to engage directly with readers and share insights into their creative journeys.

New for this year is a special discount book zone – a crowd favourite designed to make reading more accessible to all. The fair also introduces interactive tech tools, including touch-enabled maps and mobile QR-based navigation kiosks, helping visitors locate publishers and other amenities throughout the venue.
Families and younger visitors are well catered for, with dedicated children’s areas that include six educational corners, storytelling sessions, theatre performances, and hands-on workshops such as creative writing and handicrafts.
The Madinah International Book Fair supports both digital and print publishing. The event will be followed by the Riyadh International Book Fair in October. This gives readers across the country even more opportunities to connect with the world of literature.
