Our Saudi Story takes place at Al Masmak Palace in Al Deera.
Saudi Arabia continues to welcome both local and international artists, hosting exhibitions of all sizes. The Museums Commission has launched a new exhibition, Our Saudi Story: A Window into Museums, which will run until 11 November at Al Masmak Palace in Al-Deera, Riyadh. If you’re after a dose of culture, here’s what you need to know.
If you know Saudi’s history or are new to the country, then this is for you. Our Saudi Story: A Window into Museums is free to enter and is a rare chance to learn about the country. The exhibition brings together collections from museums across the Kingdom. It tells the story of Saudi Arabia and aims to raise awareness of the country’s rich history and cultural heritage.

Visitors can explore 11 artefacts brought to life through cutting-edge technology. The exhibition combines state-of-the-art digital media, motion graphics, and sound design to create an immersive experience.
The exhibition will travel to several regions, including Buraidah, Jeddah and Najran. Each stop highlights the unique cultural identity of the area and shows how it has shaped the nation we know today. Each artefact fit the overarching narrative and reflected Saudi pride. The exhibition reflects on the Kingdom’s past, present and looks ahead to its future.
Our Saudi Narrative: A Window into Museums was originally held in Buraidah, Qassim, in northwest Saudi Arabia. The opening coincided with the Buraidah Dates Carnival. The event celebrates the date harvest and is one of the world’s largest date festivals.
