The event showcases Saudi Arabian cuisine.
The Esports World Cup is underway at the SEF Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The event marks the largest competitive gaming event in history. It already includes AFT_R show concerts, and now it has announced a street food festival. Running from 10 to 19 July at Boulevard Riyadh City, it’s a chance to learn more about the Kingdom’s food scene.
The Esports World Cup’s street food festival has been created in partnership with the Culinary Arts Commission. The offering puts Saudi Arabian cuisine and its diversity in the spotlight. The stalls feature both local and international chefs. Visitors will be able to sample Saudi food and drink, from coffee to kabsa.
If you’d like to channel your inner Jamie Oliver, check out the live cooking shows. Chefs will prepare dishes before your eyes using locally sourced ingredients. Plus, there are food tastings, so you can experience a wide range of flavours.
The Esports World Cup is backed by a record-breaking prize pool of over SAR 262 million (approximately $70 million). SAR 101 million will be awarded to the Club Championship, and SAR 142 million will go to the winners of individual game tournaments.
First introduced in 2023 as a rebrand of Saudi Arabia’s Gamers8 festival, the Esports World Cup is now run by the Esports World Cup Foundation, aiming to create new opportunities for gamers and the industry worldwide. It has been the ultimate celebration of competitive gaming.
AFT_R show concerts take place at ANB Arena. The line-up includes Lost Frequencies on 18 July, TY Dolla $ign on 18 July, Metro Boomin on 24 July, Quavo on 24 July, Central Cee on 31 July, DJ R3HAB on 31 July, and Black Eyed Peas on 7 August.
