The new dining series brings together food, theatre and storytelling inside Riyadh’s historic cultural spaces.
FACT Award-winning Somewhere is taking its story beyond the restaurant table with the launch of a new supperclub series in Riyadh. Created in collaboration with Almqalat, artist Mohammed Juayd and Saudi chef Talal Alawad, the experience places food, performance and conversation at the heart of the evening.
Staged inside the Saudi Literary Club in Al Malaz, one of Riyadh’s long-standing cultural anchors, the supperclub transforms a historic theatre into an intimate dining space. The result is more than a meal, offering a shared experience designed to bring guests together through storytelling, heritage and creativity. Independent Food Company describes the Riyadh event as “not just a dinner, but an experience shaped by people, place, and performance.”
The series reimagines the traditional supperclub format. Rather than simply serving a set menu, Somewhere creates an atmosphere where guests become part of the evening. Chef Talal Alawad has curated a menu that combines original dishes with Somewhere signatures, while Mohammed Juayd leads the theatrical element, turning the dinner into an interactive performance.
Juayd is known for working across film, theatre, live events, content and cultural communication. His practice sits at the intersection of storytelling and performance, making him a natural fit for a concept built around identity, memory and community.

Chef Talal Alawad brings a refined culinary perspective to the project. Trained in Michelin-starred kitchens, his experience spans fine dining and culinary business management between Saudi Arabia and the Netherlands. For this supperclub, his approach draws on familiar flavours and formats, then reworks them for a setting that feels rooted in Riyadh’s past and present.
Somewhere has built a loyal following across the region, with locations in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh and AlUla. Its Riyadh restaurant can be found at Bujairi Terrace in Diriyah, where it serves contemporary Middle Eastern cuisine that blends Saudi influences with broader regional flavours.

The brand has also expanded internationally. Somewhere Café opened at Harrods in London, bringing its Middle Eastern-inspired menu to the luxury department store’s fourth floor. Dishes include Bao Buns with Grilled Wagyu Skewers, Kunafa Shrimp, Guacamole Hummus, Chocolate Basbousa Pudding and Cerelac Um Ali.
With its Saudi supperclub, Somewhere continues to evolve as more than a restaurant. It is now a platform for food, culture and conversation, one that puts local talent, heritage and community centre stage.
