The restaurant in Hittin offers refined Persian comfort food and warm hospitality.
Saudi Arabia’s dining scene shows no sign of slowing down, and the latest arrival is Maman in Riyadh, a restaurant that brings soulful Persian flavours to the capital. Now open in the Hittin District on Prince Turki Bin Abdulaziz Al Awwal Road, it is the newest concept from Foods Gate Company and a fresh direction for the brand in Riyadh.
The idea behind the restaurant is rooted in the Persian word “maman,” meaning mother. It is not about a literal interpretation, but about everything a mother represents, from warmth and generosity to comfort and the ability to turn a simple meal into a lasting memory. That spirit runs through both the setting and the menu.

Step inside, and it feels like walking into a family home. The space is warm and intimate, with rich colours throughout. Maroon accents and traditional Persian patterns dress the walls, while murals pay tribute to the region and its heritage. The decor is intentionally understated, with wooden tables and chairs fitted with green cushions, ensuring that the food remains the main focus.
Persian cuisine is known for its depth and heart, and Maman channels that character with a contemporary touch. The menu is inspired by the classic Iranian family table, featuring slow-cooked stews, grilled meats, fragrant rice and freshly baked breads. Starters showcase the yoghurt and herb flavours that define Persian mezze.

Guests can expect dishes such as Ash Reshteh, Mirza Ghasemi, Kashke Bademjan, Zeytoon Parvardeh, Mast o Khiar, Barbari and Taftoon. Mains include Kabab Koobideh, Joojeh Kabab, Shishlik and Kabab Barg, alongside comforting favourites like Ghormeh Sabzi, Gheymeh, Bamiye, Shaneh, Gaardan and Zereshk Polo Ba Morgh, all served with a choice of rice.
If you enjoy rich flavours, cosy settings and food that feels like home, Maman in Riyadh is set to become a regular spot on your dining rotation.
