Sushi lovers in the capital have another restaurant to add to their radar with the opening of OBI Urban Sushi at Radisson Collection Residences, Riyadh. The Beirut-born restaurant brand will bring its signature mix of fresh sushi, creative Japanese-inspired dishes, and cool urban style to the city.
Originally from Lebanon, OBI Urban Sushi established its identity around a contemporary, approachable take on Japanese dining. Its Lebanese roots are part of the story, though the food looks firmly towards Japan, with creative combinations complementing familiar favourites. The Riyadh opening continues that journey, introducing the capital to a concept that balances a broad sushi selection with the flexibility of a neighbourhood restaurant.
At its new home, the restaurant occupies the 18th floor of Radisson Collection Residences, Riyadh. Sushi is the obvious starting point. Nigiri, sashimi, gunkan and hand rolls form the foundations of the menu, while the signature OBI rolls take a more playful approach. King Kani pairs fresh crab with avocado and beetroot, and Royal Salmon combines quinoa, salmon, mango and avocado. Meanwhile, Volcano features eel, scallops, crab and tobiko, with togarashi pepper adding a spicy element.
There is plenty to explore before the first roll arrives, too. The cold selection includes Salmon Tartare, Tuna Tartare, Salmon Crudo, Marinated Hamachi and Seafood Ceviche. Salads and poke bowls provide further options for diners looking for a lighter meal, or an alternative to ordering several individual dishes.
For those who prefer their starters hot, the choices include Spicy Rock Shrimp, Shrimp Tempura and Pulled Beef Bao. They also make useful additions to a shared order, particularly when your dining companions have different ideas about what constitutes the perfect Japanese meal.
The larger dishes add substance beyond the sushi counter. Miso Black Cod and Salmon Teriyaki cater to seafood fans, while Wagyu Beef and Beef Teppanyaki offer meatier alternatives. That variety makes it easy to plan dinner around a main course or sample different sections of the menu together.
