The conservation-focused brand is travelling beyond borders.
Mantis, Accor’s conservation-focused brand, is continuing its GCC expansion into Saudi Arabia. Following its global journey beyond Africa, the brand continues to redefine luxury hospitality through its renowned eco-tourism, culture, and heritage. Its newest project, the eco-luxury resort Basiqat by Mantis, will be located in Al Uyaaynah. Located 40 minutes from Riyadh, it is being developed by Design & Build in partnership with GIB Capital and the Tourism Development Fund.
The new hotel development will comprise two sites, with the entire complex set to open at the end of 2026. It will feature a total of 218 keys, including 90 suites, 66 villas, 10 Zad Palace Suites, and 52 desert tents. Amenities will include dining venues, landscaped gardens, and a full hydro-spa with separate male and female facilities. Plus, indoor and outdoor pools, beauty salons, a yoga pavilion, and a health café.

The development will also include a souk, a kids’ club, and event and conference spaces. The new hub will provide a space where luxury and culture combine, catering to families, tourists, and professionals alike.
Leading hospitality brands such as Mantis are offering guests immersive experiences with the Kingdom’s landscapes, culture, and heritage. Plus, the team ensures they maintain sustainable practices. Basiqat by Mantis will further this mission by championing sustainable and authentic connections with the surrounding natural environment.

Craig Erasmus, CEO of Mantis Collection, said: “The signing of Basiqat by Mantis marks an exciting milestone in our journey across the GCC. This project embodies our philosophy of responsible luxury, expressed through design and experiences that celebrate Saudi Arabia’s rich culture and heritage. Basiqat by Mantis has been envisioned as a destination that invites guests to discover the Kingdom through its traditions, artistry, and cuisine, and to immerse themselves in activities that awaken the senses.”
Basiqat by Mantis joins upcoming developments in the region. These include Saij Mountain Lodge by Mantis in Jebel Jais, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.
