Everything you need to know about the Kingdom’s first water park.
Saudi Arabia’s megaprojects are always spectacular. The latest development, however, is all about fun. Lots of fun. Qiddiya’s Aquarabia Water Park will be the first water park in Saudi Arabia and the largest in the Middle East. Located on the outskirts of Riyadh, it will be home to 22 rides and attractions, including some record-breakers. Aquarabia will be the only water park in the world to offer a mix of dry and wet rides. Plus, animal lovers will be excited by the animal experiences across Arabian Peak, Camel Rock and Herding Grounds.
During an interview on Fi Alsurah – “In the Picture”, Abdullah Al-Dawood, Managing Director of Qiddiya Investment Company, confirmed the post-Eid opening, stating: “Six Flags is open. After Eid Al Fitr, we will open Aquarabia. Every three months, each year, something new will open, gradually shaping the city.”

Aquarabia Water Park will feature four record-breaking attractions, including Junoon Drop, the world’s tallest water coaster; Speedy Jamezales, the tallest drop body slide; Slithereel, the longest water slide; and Jamal Joom, the longest mat racer. Aquarabia will also feature the first underwater adventure ride featuring fully submersible cars.
If you love a good competition, then bring your game face. The site will hold water sports competitions – surfing, anyone? The dedicated watersports zone will offer rafting, kayaking, canyoneering, free solo climbing and cliff jumping, as well as the Kingdom’s first surf pool. Overall, the park will offer experiences across sports and wellness, nature and environment, parks and attractions, motion and mobility, and arts and culture.
Abdullah bin Nasser Aldawood, board member and managing director of QIC, explained: “This announcement marks a significant milestone for Qiddiya City and for the entertainment, tourism and sports sectors. As we keep expanding our entertainment offering, Aquarabia and Six Flags Qiddiya City will fulfil the diverse entertainment needs of our community, contribute to the diversification of our economy and create job opportunities in the tourism sector.”

What else is open in Qiddiya?
Qiddiya is already home to Six Flags Qiddiya, which boasts 28 rides and attractions. The site includes six themed lands, and the world’s longest, tallest and fastest rollercoaster. The records-breaking rides also include Sirocco Tower, the world’s tallest free-standing shot tower ride; Gyropsin, the world’s tallest pendulum ride; Spitfire, the world’s tallest inverted top hat coaster; and Iron Rattler, the world’s tallest tilt coaster.
Aquarabia Water Park and Six Flags Qiddiya City are the first attractions at Qiddiya City. Also on the way are a Dragon Ball Theme Park, Faldo Series Golf Course, Mercedes-AMG World of Performance, Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium, Qiddiya Performing Arts Centre and the Qiddiya Speed Park Track.
