The event welcomes Asia’s best basketball teams.

Get ready for a slam dunk. The FIBA Asia Cup 2025 is set to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Running from 5 to 17 August, this marks the 31st edition of the event. If you’d like to join the fun, here’s what you need to know.

This is the second time that the FIBA Asia Cup has been held in Saudi Arabia. The event is held every four years in a different location. The Kingdom first hosted the event in 1997, and now it is set to welcome back the sporting spectacle. In 1960, the tournament was launched and first held in Manila, Philippines. Since then, it has been hosted around the world, with China hosting it six times.

The FIBA Asia Cup tournament will take place at King Abdullah Sports City Hall, which has a capacity of over 15,000 seats. The Asian Basketball Federation is behind the event, which brings together 16 of Asia’s best teams – including Saudi Arabia. The tournament is divided into two stages: the Group Stage and the Final Stage. The Group Stage runs from 5 to 11 August, and the Final Stage runs from 12 to 17 August.

Group A includes Australia, Lebanon, Qatar and South Korea. Group B includes Guam, Iran, Japan and Syria. Group C includes China, India, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. Group D includes Iraq, New Zealand, the Philippines and Taiwan.

In the Group Stage, teams play four matches in a single-round league system. The Final Stage includes the quarter-finals, semi-finals, third-place match and the grand final.

Tickets for the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 are now available, starting from SAR 45.
