The Fast and the Furious franchise has raised a generation of petrolheads in Saudi Arabia, so it is no surprise that the Kingdom loves its motorsports. The Formula 1 STC Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah has secured a place in the hearts of Saudi residents and now, Formula E is gearing up for a much-awaited return to the Kingdom.
Formula E has announced the calendar for the 2026/2027 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, and Saudi Arabia is on the list. Following a thrilling debut at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit last year, the Kingdom will host the opening rounds of the new season on 18 and 19 December 2026, with the only night races on the calendar and the first-ever season opener in Jeddah.
The 2026/2027 season marks a bold new chapter for the all-electric series, with Formula E entering the GEN4 era. The championship will feature its biggest calendar yet with 21 races across 13 global cities, bringing high-voltage action to destinations including Mexico City, Miami, Berlin, Monaco, Tokyo and Shanghai, alongside new venues such as Circuit of The Americas in Austin, MASCOT Zandvoort Circuit in the Netherlands, and Brands Hatch in the UK.
Returning to Jeddah marks another major milestone. After six successful seasons in Diriyah, Formula E’s move to the Red Sea coast brought new energy, a stunning skyline, and a circuit that is officially the fastest street track in the world. Now, the Jeddah Corniche Circuit will welcome a new era of racing as the GEN4 car makes its competitive debut under the lights.

The 2026/2027 season will also introduce a dynamic new race format, with double-header weekends featuring both the traditional E-Prix and the new E-PrixUnleashed race, a shorter, high-speed format designed to showcase the raw performance of the GEN4 machines.
The season begins in Jeddah before travelling across the Americas, Europe, and Asia Pacific, with new and returning fan favourites including Mexico City, Miami, São Paulo, Berlin, Monaco, London, Madrid, Shanghai and Tokyo. The season finale will take place in Tokyo on 24 and 25 July 2027.
The world’s first all-electric FIA World Championship, Formula E, stands at the forefront of sustainable innovation. So buckle up and prepare for two days packed with high-octane action.
