Qiddiya City is set to welcome the National Tennis Centre, a world-class facility that will strengthen Saudi Arabia’s growing role in global sport.

Qiddiya City is set to become one of the world’s leading destinations for entertainment, sport, and culture with the development of the new National Tennis Centre. Announced by the Qiddiya Investment Company, the landmark project aims to put Saudi Arabia on the map as a major global tennis destination.

Located in Qiddiya City, the National Tennis Centre will become the largest tennis facility in the region. The venue will be part of a wider destination that includes world-class attractions, such as a Sir Nick Faldo-designed 18-hole championship golf course, residential communities, offices, and retail spaces. Construction is already underway, with the project designed by internationally recognised sports architecture firm Populous.

The National Tennis Centre will feature 30 courts, including 28 hard courts and two clay courts. Its design takes inspiration from the surrounding Tuwaiq Mountains, blending the venue into Qiddiya’s natural landscape. The centrepiece will be a 15,000-seat Centre Court with a retractable roof, along with a 5,000-seat court and an 8,000-seat multi-purpose arena with a retractable roof. The venue will include six competition courts, six indoor courts, and 14 practice courts, with space for around 33,000 spectators across the site.

Built for year-round use, the National Tennis Centre will meet international standards set by the ATP, WTA, and ITF. This will allow the venue to host major tennis tournaments, concerts, esports events, and cultural celebrations. The centre is expected to become a key destination for professional players, rising talent, and tennis fans, while also encouraging more people in Saudi Arabia to get involved in the sport through community programmes, fan zones, and public spaces.

One of the main features of the development will be the High Performance Training Centre. This facility will help support the growth of tennis in Saudi Arabia by providing athletes with world-class training and recovery facilities. It will include advanced training areas, a gym, hydrotherapy and physiotherapy suites, recovery spaces, player lounges, changing facilities, and a media centre.

With the National Tennis Centre, Qiddiya City is taking another major step toward becoming a global destination where sport, entertainment, and culture come together. While an official opening date has not yet been announced, the project highlights Saudi Arabia’s growing ambitions in international tennis and its focus on creating world-class sporting experiences.
