The new course is designed by golfing legend, Sir Nick Faldo.
Saudi Arabia’s rapidly evolving sports and leisure scene is about to gain a prestigious new addition. Qiddiya City, dubbed the world’s first city built entirely for play, has announced its global partnership with the Faldo Series, marking a major milestone for golf in the Kingdom. At the heart of the announcement is the unveiling of a new 18-hole championship golf course designed by six-time Major winner, Sir Nick Faldo.
Set to open in 2026, the course is Faldo’s latest signature project and forms part of Qiddiya’s broader commitment to developing next-generation sporting talent. With the Faldo Series recognised as one of the world’s leading platforms for youth golf, Qiddiya’s partnership signals a strategic push to support grassroots participation in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals.

The golf course will be more than just a venue for tournaments; it’s designed to be a fully immersive experience. A standout feature includes a unique “three-hole return” layout, which allows players to enjoy shorter rounds, enhancing accessibility and encouraging broader community engagement. Complementing the course will be a modern clubhouse, golf academy, and a suite of training facilities set to open by 2028.
“Qiddiya City’s partnership with Sir Nick Faldo in designing a new golf course and becoming global partner of the Faldo Series underscores our commitment to growing the game of golf and nurturing the next generation of Saudi golfers,” said Abdullah bin Nasser Aldawood, Managing Director of Qiddiya Investment Company.

Faldo himself echoed the excitement: “This is a unique opportunity to become involved in one of the most exciting cities being developed today where a new way of city life is fused together with sport, entertainment and culture. Our partnership with Qiddiya City brings together the golf community with a whole nation bubbling with energy to be active and try new sports.”
The golf course will join an already impressive roster of attractions at Qiddiya City, including the Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Stadium, one of the venues slated to host events for the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
