The Chedi Wadi Safar is coming to Saudi Arabia’s Diriyah

The new hotel will be located in one of the kingdom’s most beautiful natural areas.

Diriyah is fast becoming one of the Saudi Arabia’s most exciting developments. Whether it’s the dining destination, Bujairi Terrace, or the UNESCO World Heritage Site, At-Turaif, it makes for a great day out. Now, it has added the new hotel, The Chedi Wadi Safar, to the ever-growing list.

The Chedi Wadi Safar has announced that it is expanding into Saudi Arabia, and it will be located approximately 14 minutes north of Riyadh. The Diriyah site is home to Wadi Safar, which is famous for being one of the most beautiful natural areas in the kingdom.

The Chedi Wadi Safar draws inspiration from the location’s rich heritage, and aims to be a historic, cultural and lifestyle destination. The Chedi brand began with The Chedi Phuket in 1995, and can now be found across the world from Miami to Muscat. Plus, in the Middle East, the brand opened the much-loved The Chedi Al Bait in Sharjah and The Chedi in Katara Cultural Village, Doha.

The Chedi Wadi Safar is just one of 15 hotels that are opening across Diriyah and Wadi Safar. Jerry Inzerillo, DGDA’s Group Chief Executive Officer, explained: “Diriyah is the birthplace of Saudi Arabia and was the capital of the First Saudi State. In line with Vision 2030, we are working hard to position this iconic location as the modern epicentre of historical and cultural experiences and one of the greatest gathering places in the world.

“The Chedi Wadi Safar’s serene and tranquil environment will pay a fitting tribute to the majestic Wadi Safar by delivering its renowned authentic and unrivalled approach to hospitality. We are extremely happy to welcome The Chedi to Diriyah.”

Diriyah is famous for being the original capital of Saudi Arabia, as it was once the seat of power for the Al Saud family. During the 18th and 19th century, it was home to the founder of the first Saudi state, Mohammed bin Saud.

Today, this Saudi Arabian megaproject combines the past with the future. The area is being transformed into a buzzing tourist destination, and is currently in its first phase of construction. Upon completion, it aims to attract 100,000 residents and 25 million visitors annually. Count us in.
