Earworm brings together local bands, DJs, and a food and drink programme created by the brains behind its award-winning sibling Offtrack.

Those who imbibe know that Bangkok is quite possibly the world’s cocktail capital. Bars in the Thai city have earned international acclaim for world-class mixology and bold experimental concepts, creating nightlife experiences that are hard to replicate elsewhere. Taking a leaf out of the Thai playbook is Earworm, a new watering hole whispered about town in Singapore’s Boat Quay enclave.

Founded by the team behind Offtrack, Earworm is a venue driven by live music and DJ sets, as its namesake suggests. Stepping inside transports guests to a scene extracted from the 1960s, with mid-century modern furnishings filling the room and retro music posters lining its warm wooden walls.

On Wednesdays, a rotating roster of homegrown bands such as Will Beale & Wovensound, Clementi Sound Appreciation Club, and Adel Rashid takes over. Fridays and Saturdays offer a change of pace, when the soundstage becomes a platform for DJ decks helmed by Singapore’s growing number of music mixers, including Daryl Knows, Dexter Colt, and Mawkus.

But there’s more to this space to look out for than simply celebrating local music. The cocktails, for one, deserve a mention. Revellers won’t find any run-of-the-mill bar classics on Earworm’s drinks list. Instead, guests will find beguiling beverages such as the Black Olive Spritz, a concoction of Aperol, Cynar, Gin Mare, sparkling wine, and olive brine; or the Toreador, featuring Espolòn Blanco Tequila flavoured with apricot, orange, and butter; as well as the Green Mile Negroni, made with Gentiane, Monkey 47 Gin, and a green apple and chamomile-infused white aperitif wine.

The same approach to culinary creativity carries over to its food offerings. Instead of forgettable deep-fried snacks, small plates include Cabbage Dumplings, Coconut Crab Croquettes, and Heirloom Tomatoes & Smoked Coconut. Heartier partygoers can fuel up before dancing with the tongue-numbing Mala Rigatoni, the delectably crusted Bangkok Schnitzel, or go for the Oxtail Shakshouka, served with a sourdough baguette on the side.

Be sure to make time to discover the three distinct zones at Earworm. The first is a semi-enclosed street corner for casual gatherings, then there’s a communal nook out back where like-minded folks can come together, and the main floor where all the music and action will take place.
