Chef Daniele Sperindio’s acclaimed Italian fine-dining concept is set to make its return.
Singapore’s dining scene rarely stands still, but some restaurants leave a mark that lingers long after the final service. Art di Daniele Sperindio is one of them. After closing its National Gallery Singapore address in late 2024, the much-loved Italian fine-dining concept is now poised for a comeback at METT Singapore, with reports indicating a September 2026 reopening.
For those who followed its first chapter, Art di Daniele Sperindio built a loyal following during its run at National Gallery Singapore, where chef-owner Daniele Sperindio earned praise for refined Italian cooking rooted in memory, technique and storytelling. Its closure was never positioned as a final goodbye, but rather a pause before the next move. That next move now brings the restaurant to METT Singapore, a lifestyle hotel set in the heart of Fort Canning Park.

The relocation is in part due to Chef Daniele’s personal connection to the Fort Canning site, having been married there, which gives the reopening an added emotional pull. It also promises a markedly different atmosphere from the restaurant’s previous home. Rather than the broader, gallery-adjacent setting of the past, the new iteration is expected to feel more focused and intimate. Chef Daniele has described the space as a “studio”, which suggests a room designed for a stronger connection between chef, guest and setting.
That evolution should extend to the food, too. Art di Daniele Sperindio has long been associated with modern Italian fine dining that balances heritage with imagination, and the version arriving at METT Singapore looks set to push that identity further. The restaurant was previously awarded a Michelin star, and Art was also recognised by Gambero Rosso as Best Italian Restaurant in the World 2024. There is also a natural point of intrigue in its Krug Ambassade status, which opens the door to thoughtful champagne pairings alongside the new menu.

METT Singapore also sits within a wider hospitality story. The METT Hotels & Resorts brand is part of Dubai-based Sunset Hospitality Group, a multinational lifestyle operator whose portfolio extends well beyond hotels to include restaurants, beach clubs, nightlife venues and other leisure-led concepts, such at HANU, Mott 32, Signor Sassi and SUSHISAMBA.
For Singapore diners, this is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated restaurant returns on the calendar. Familiar in name but clearly evolved in spirit, Art di Daniele Sperindio looks ready to offer something that feels both nostalgic and new.
