Opening on 8 May 2026, Jiin Omakase pairs seasonal Japanese cuisine with warm hospitality and an approachable take on fine dining.
In a restaurant scene filled with ambitious concepts, it still takes something distinctive to make an impression. Jiin Omakase, which opens on 8 May 2026 at Shaw Centre along Scotts Road, hopes to do exactly that with a concept built around seasonal Japanese cuisine, attentive hospitality, and a more relaxed style of fine dining.
Positioned within the omakase space, Jiin is designed to feel refined without becoming overly formal. The aim is not to create a dining room that feels stiff or intimidating, but one that encourages guests to settle in and enjoy the experience at an easy pace.

The restaurant has just 32 seats, creating an intimate setting that suits the format. At its centre is a 12-seat counter, where diners can watch the chefs prepare and present each course with precision. There are also private rooms for smaller groups, making the venue suitable for both special occasions and quieter gatherings. The interiors follow the same thinking, with warm, earthy tones and soft lighting creating a calm, understated atmosphere.
This approach is closely tied to the Japanese concept of Omotenashi, a hospitality philosophy rooted in care, anticipation and thoughtful service. Rather than being performative, it is about understanding what guests need before they have to ask. At Jiin Omakase, that principle shapes both the mood of the space and the overall dining experience.

In the kitchen, the menu takes its cues from the seasons. Ingredients are selected according to what is at its best throughout the year, allowing the offering to shift and evolve over time. Seafood plays a leading role, with premium produce flown in from Japan, and the focus remains firmly on highlighting the quality of the ingredients rather than overworking them.
Among the dishes expected to stand out are the Monaka, Grilled A5 Kagoshima Wagyu and Kegani, each reflecting the restaurant’s ingredient-led approach. For the full experience, diners can choose from a selection of set menus, with prices starting from S$138 and rising to S$488 for the Chef’s Menu.
