• Moutai House is the China national spirit's first lifestyle destination outside of its domestic market.

  • The destination includes a discovery centre, restaurant, and bar.

  • Moutai House is located at the Fullerton Waterboat House.

Discover China’s national spirit in a whole new light with Moutai House, a destination venue for discovery through multiple senses.

Baijiu neat can be something of an acquired taste. China’s famously potent sorghum spirit is known for its bold, astringent-leaning flavours, but Moutai House, a new three-storey dining and lifestyle destination opening on 21 October 2026, hopes to introduce the national spirit in a more approachable fashion. Housed at the Fullerton Waterboat House, the destination is the first venture under the China Moutai Global Retail Store Identity System, marking another step in the spirit’s increasingly international ambitions.

A collaboration between Kweichow Moutai, MICHELIN-starred Singapore Chinese restaurant group Imperial Treasure and acclaimed bar group Nutmeg Collective, Moutai House takes visitors on a multi-sensory journey through the world of baijiu, combining its history and heritage with gastronomy, cocktails and a fair amount of discovery along the way.

Moutai House Experiential Centre 03

The experience begins on the ground floor at The Moutai Experiential Centre, an arcade-style space that explores the ingredients, flavour profiles and centuries-old production behind the prized spirit. And much like Bordeaux, the name Moutai comes from its place of origin: Maotai town in China’s Guizhou province.

History buffs and serious collectors will want to linger here, particularly for Southeast Asia’s first birth-year Kweichow Moutai collection, featuring annual vintages dating back to 1965, the year Singapore gained independence. Among more than 300 exclusive Kweichow Moutai labels are also rare bottles valued at up to $1 million, should you ever find yourself casually browsing for a very expensive conversation starter.

Singapore gets its own special nod too, with the Kweichow Moutai Discovery Collection — Singapore. The limited collection features Nanyang-inspired bottle designs that pair traditional Chinese motifs with Singapore’s national flower, the Vanda Miss Joaquim orchid.

From there, the journey moves upstairs to Imperial Treasure, where Moutai meets Chinese cuisine. The second-floor restaurant brings together the aromatic sour-spicy flavours of Guizhou cuisine with the delicate knife work and intricate braising techniques of Huaiyang cooking. Moutai isn’t simply poured alongside the meal either. The spirit also finds its way into marinades, braises and stews, giving diners a rather more immersive introduction to its versatility.

Finally, head up to the third floor for Sohaus, the 40-seat bar by Nutmeg Collective — the group behind award-winning concepts including Nutmeg & Clove, Last Word and Draft Land Singapore. Here, Kweichow Moutai stars in eight signature cocktails that pair the spirit with distinctly Asian flavours such as matcha and mala. Classic cocktails also get the Moutai treatment, while daytime visitors can drop by for coffee and a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic coffee creations.

Moutai House Sohaus

One particularly intriguing reason to stay for dessert? The Kweichow Moutai ice cream affogato by Sohaus, which combines the Chinese spirit-infused ice cream with espresso. It may not be the most common way to finish a Chinese meal, but Moutai House hardly seems interested in doing things strictly the traditional way.

Add in sweeping waterfront views, and you have a destination that makes a convincing case for getting to know baijiu beyond the neat pour. Just remember to take it easy. Moutai may be sophisticated, but it is still very much a heady tipple.
