Budding detectives can now put their mystery solving skills to the test with the world’s first official Sherlock Holmes experience.
Fans of the fictional detective Sherlock Holmes can now play the part with A Study In Red: The Official Sherlock Experience by the Singaporean gaming studio Hidden. The investigative game, adapted from A Study In Red, the first novel by author Arthur Conan Doyle featuring the character, explores the seedy enclaves of Bugis’ past and will delve deep into the accurate underground setting of its historical criminal networks.
From Friday, 21 August 2026, the two-hour experience will take players through 16 different spots around Bugis Town and its malls on a mission to solve a brutal murder. In groups of up to five, there will be clues to uncover and puzzles to solve throughout the mysterious journey.

Those entrenched in the works of Doyle will also encounter Easter eggs such as 221B Bugis Street; the Singapore version of Holmes iconic 221B Baker Street address, during the gameplay. Besides interactions with the other players, shopkeepers throughout the journey in Bugis will also be supporting the game’s riveting vision by offering discount codes for food and beverages for breaks in between.
A Study In Red: The Official Sherlock Experience will feature a combination of crime scenes created by augmented reality and physical set pieces — including one fashioned to depict a room bloodied with violence, where players have to uncover details with UV light and an AR camera provided by the gaming studio. They would then have to report their findings in a group chat with the detective before moving on to the next location.

At the end of the game, players will then receive exclusive keepsakes such as a special Sherlock Holmes notebook that will also be retailed in a Victorian-themed gift shop by Hidden. Of this latest expansion to the Sherlock Holmes canon universe, Tim Hubbard, head of global licensing for The Conan Doyle Estate, credited the enduring relevance of the famed detective to its author’s rich world-building abilities and engaging narratives.
The A Study In Red: The Official Sherlock Experience is suitable for those aged 13 and above, from $19 for students, $29 for players on weekdays, and $39 for weekends and public holidays.
