Chinese singer-songwriter YoungCaptain is returning to Singapore on 14 November 2026 with his emotionally charged Mandopop hits and a brand-new album. For his latest appearance, the artist will perform at Resorts World Convention Centre as part of his I AM WHAT I AM World Tour.
Born in Guizhou, China, the singer began writing songs at 14 and treated music as a personal outlet for expression rather than an actual career. YoungCaptain then began composing professionally in 2017, and that same year he released his most famous single “You Are Everywhere”.
Several years after the track’s release, YoungCaptain was catapulted into the spotlight in 2020 on Douyin — China’s version of the platform TikTok. The song remains his signature hit, with more than 24 million Spotify streams since its release. Other fan favourites followed, including “11”, “NUNA” and “Talking”, establishing his reputation for melancholy, romantic songs that have become staples of China’s short-form video culture.
Beyond singing and songwriting, YoungCaptain is also a producer and music video director, having worked behind-the-scenes on projects with other musicians such as the Hong Kong singer G.E.M. His growing international following has also taken him beyond China, with previous tours stopping in Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and other cities. His 2023–24 Walking Here World Tour visited more than a dozen international destinations, while his STARRY U tour returned him to Singapore in 2024.
Now, he is entering a new chapter with I AM WHAT I AM, an album that places self-discovery and identity firmly at its centre. Released in May 2026, the 10-track album explores the familiar themes of love, family, and coming-of-age. And given YoungCaptain’s knack for turning heartbreak into highly singable pop, expect plenty of feelings, nostalgia and perhaps a few very dramatic car rides home afterwards at his upcoming soundstage.
