José by Pizarro will debut any day now

The capital’s favourite five-star hotel has just announced the opening date of its latest addition, and it’s one set to transport diners straight to the colourful streets of Seville. Say hola to José by Pizarro.
A casual, yet high-end tapas bar, it is the brainchild of chef, restaurateur and author José Pizarro, who is fondly known as the “godfather of Spanish cuisine” in the UK and across Spain. And if his name rings a bell, you may be familiar with his intimate José Tapas Bar Bermondsey in London. We’re told that diners can expect the same authentic Spanish dishes and cosy atmosphere in Abu Dhabi, where José by Pizarro will open its doors on Friday, 17 March. The restaurant will serve a vast array of paired wines, premium wines, cavas and spirits, as well as Spanish beer on tap, so you can enjoy a truly immersive dining experience.
You’ll start your feast with a selection of small plates – think: spicy chicken croquetas, prawn fritters, and potato tortilla – prepared by Pizarro’s expert kitchen team. You’ll then continue with the likes of red tuna tartare, traditional lamb meatballs and free-range chicken paella, all of which are bigger and designed to be shared. And if you have room for more, as you should, choose from José by Pizarro’s range of decadent desserts. On the menu? Chocolate pots with salt and olive oil, homemade Spanish almond tart with figs and custard and a spectacular cheese selection served with fruits and chutneys.
