Atlantis Aquaventure, the world’s largest waterpark, adds 28 new slides and attractions

The new Trident Tower, Splashers Lagoon and Splashers Cove are now open.

Atlantis Aquaventure has been expanded with world exclusive waterslides and two brand-new towers. The Palm Jumeirah resort’s latest project increases the size of the popular waterpark by a third, adding 28 new record-breaking waterslides and attractions.

At 48-metres tall, Trident Tower boasts 12 record-breaking waterslides and attractions. The new experiences include the world’s tallest waterslide of its kind, the longest family water coaster in the world and the tallest vertical drop body slide in the Middle East, in addition to the region’s first cliff jumping experience.

Inside the tower are a selection of new hero slides, including Odyssey of Terror, in which riders accelerate and gain speed as they sweep up and across the apex of the wave where they will momentarily experience near weightlessness before free-falling down the other side of the curved wall. This family raft ride is the first slide in the region with a Double TornadoWAVE and the world’s tallest waterslide to feature one.

Shockwave is a unique water ride combining speed, power, and rafting adventure into one unforgettable experience. Families of up to six blast forward 449 metres for over one-minute through a series of tunnels at the speed of a giant slalom ski course. Riders will then drop and dive as they race along the curve’s outer wall, anticipating the next change in direction as they look down the fall-line. Shockwave hold the title of being the world’s first MammothBLAST family rafting water coaster and the longest family rafting water coaster in the world!

Medusa’s Lair presents an intricate web of twists and turns, just like the mythical Medusas’ hair of snakes. Riders are blasted through a series of dark caves, steep slopes and drops as they race one another to the end. Based on Greek mythology’s monstrous gorgon, Medusa’s Lair is the first duelling PIPElineBLAST Water Coaster in the region and the longest duelling PIPElineBLAST Water Coaster in the world.

Blackout is the tallest vertical drop body slide in the Middle East and has been billed as the scarier sister to the parks already famous Leap of Faith. The most daring of riders will plummet down an almost-vertical drop that delivers extreme thrills and high velocities from beginning to end.

In addition to the ‘big four’ guests can take to the Hydra Racers, which allow four racers to compete in a time challenge to be the first to the bottom in what is the world’s first RallyRACER slide with crossover RallyPOINT design. Immortal Falls offers gravity-defying cliff jumps. Vortex takes riders through back-to-back turns and 360 loops before plunging into a lagoon. While Raging Rapids allows guests to travel through powerful waves, high-pressure bubbles and currents.

Over at Splasher’s Lagoon and Splashers’ Cove, guests will find 16 new waterslides and attractions designed for endless hours of water-based fun. Together they form the biggest kid’s only waterpark experience in the Middle East. The record-breaking slides include Riptide, The Middle East’s first six-lane KIDZ ProRACER; Comet Racers, The world’s first KIDZ RallyRACER and Swirl; the first KIDZ TORNADO 24.

Aquaventure is open to both hotel and external guests, meaning you don’t have to stay in the resort to experience the new attractions. A resident Day Pass starts at AED 169 for adults and AED 149 for children. Annual Passes start from AED 495, and Season Passes start from AED 299.

Aquaventure is a precursor to the second Atlantis hotel that will be opening on the Palm Jumeirah later this year. The Royal Atlantis Resort and Residences will offer endless ocean views and a playful contrast between fire and water. In terms of leisure, guests can expect exclusive swimming pools, private beaches and the A 90-metre-high infinity sky pool. The Royal Atlantis Resort & Residences will also be home to restaurants and bars led by some of the most famous chefs in the world, including Dinner by Heston Blumenthal; Milos by Costas Spiliadis; La Mar by Gastón Acurio; Jaleo by José Andrés; Ling Ling by Hakkasan; and Ariana’s Kitchen by Ariana Bundy.
