The new gaming hub includes the first-ever Esports Academy in the Middle East.

Abu Dhabi will be home to the new gaming hub for amateurs and professionals of all ages and abilities, which will include gaming festivals, competitions and the first ever Esports Academy in the Middle East.

Pixoul Gaming is scheduled to launch in Al Qana before the end of the year, and when it opens it will be the go-to entertainment destination for gamers. The venue will span five exciting zones: VR gaming in Pixoul Planet, Esports Academy, Esports Bar Console and Retro Gaming, Gaming Streaming and Broadcasting Studios, and Esports Events Hall.

Pixoul Planet VR is home to 10 virtual and augmented reality games. This might be the closest you’ll get to travelling into space, as you can hop on board a guided spaceship tour of planet Pixoul. Other VR experiences range from fun virtual rollercoasters to a multi-sensory game where your mission is to save the planet.

Esports Academy will be a place to nurture new talent, as it will be a school for gamers complete with classes, local as well as international coaches, and one-on-one training from gaming champions. Students will be given equipment, an understanding of the gaming ecosystem, and information about jobs in the industry.

It’s not just about fostering gaming talent, but turning Esports into a must-visit event. Global gaming tournaments can be watched in the 800-seat capacity Esports Events Hall or the Esports bar. The retro-inspired bar includes classic arcade machines, from Pac-Man to Space Invaders. Plus, when you need to power up, there’ll be plenty of food and drink.

Esports is one of the fastest growing industries in the Middle East, and gaming festivals have grown in popularity, as witnessed by the recent Gamers8 in Riyadh. As for the UAE’s digital gaming sector, it is estimated to reach US$930 million by 2025.
