The Arts Center at NYU Abu Dhabi has launched its 11th season. The event brings together arts and culture, aligning with the country’s Year of Community. The line-up includes dance, film, music and theatre.
On 29 August, the Palestinian pianist, Faraj Suleiman, will be making his debut in the UAE. His music combines Arabic, jazz, and rock. On 19 and 20 September, Find Your Eyes, Reid showcases the British artist Benji Reid’s work. The exhibition explores the interplay between dance, theatre and photography.

On 26 and 27 September, Dear Children, Sincerely… will be playing at The Black Box. The show was created by Stages Theatre Group and Mashirika Performing Arts and Media Company, and explores post-colonial history.
On 9 and 10 October, Shakespeare’s Othello will come to The Baxter Theatre. The play tells the story of Othello from an African perspective, and the time of German colonialism, the Herero uprising in German Southwest Africa, and present-day Namibia.

Professor Shose Kessi, Dean of Humanities at the University of Cape Town, explains: “There are many aspects of Foot’s production that propose a decolonial reading of Shakespeare’s Othello. Perhaps one of the most sophisticated so far, the piece fits into an emerging body of work that seeks to not only disrupt the centrality of Shakespeare and western literature in contemporary spaces but also to resist Eurocentric readings of the colonial past”.

Shows at The Arts Center at NYU Abu Dhabi also include Hekayah on 27 November, The Tasting Sessions Live: Reunion – The Tasty Biscuits and Friends on 24 January 2026, and Tamaas Festival on 29 January 2026.
