Abu Dhabi has no shortage of Insta-worthy desserts designed for the camera, but Café Ginori may have created one of Saadiyat Island’s most tempting new contenders. Located inside The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, the Italian-inspired café has introduced The Ginori Cake, a theatrical chocolate creation that makes its entrance with a tableside salted caramel pour.

Available daily from 5pm to 8pm, the AED 120 dessert combines layers of soft chocolate cake with silky chocolate crémeux and crisp chocolate pearls. The finishing touch comes at the table, where warm golden salted caramel is poured over the cake, adding another layer of indulgence while providing the all-important Instagram moment. Best enjoyed with freshly brewed tea or coffee, it also comes with views across the beaches and waters of Saadiyat Island.

The dessert feels particularly at home at Café Ginori, where food, fashion and Italian design come together. The collaboration brings Ginori 1735, one of Italy’s historic porcelain houses, into the setting of The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort. Founded by Marquis Carlo Ginori in Doccia, Tuscany, in 1735, the brand has built its reputation around decorative porcelain inspired by Italian art, craftsmanship and culture.

Those influences extend throughout the Abu Dhabi café. The interiors incorporate pieces from Ginori 1735’s Domus home décor collection, including Ondori Azalea fabrics and floral wallpaper in soft petal shades. Elsewhere, a dedicated retail area gives diners the chance to browse porcelain collections such as Oriente Italiano, Labirinto, Il Viaggio di Nettuno and Diva.

Food is given equal attention. Open from breakfast through to aperitivo, Café Ginori serves an Italian-inspired all-day menu presented across the brand’s distinctive porcelain. Savoury dishes include Truffle Arancini, while desserts such as Ricotta Tart continue the café’s focus on elegant Italian flavours. Afternoon tea is also a major draw, with the venue named Favourite Afternoon Tea at the FACT Dining Awards Abu Dhabi 2025.

With sea views, statement tableware and one particularly camera-friendly chocolate cake, Café Ginori offers another reason to linger at The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort. Just make sure your phone is ready before the caramel starts pouring.
