Staycation Spotlight: Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island

SPONSORED:  FACT’s David Tapley checks into Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island to indulge in a family-friendly staycation featuring theme parks, destination dining and even a beach club.

The modern and comfortable Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island boasts an enviable location in the heart of Yas Bay Waterfront. The capitals latest lifestyle destination is home to several high-profile restaurants, the Etihad Arena and the new Café del Mar beach club but more on that later! The five-star hotel with its 545 rooms anchors the entire development and offers the ideal spot for a family-focused staycation that will ensure everyone departs with happy memories.

Beautifully designed with modern flourishes and a homely ambience, the resort-style property draws design elements from the Arabian Gulf, glimpsed through the large glass throughout the waterfront property. A soothing colour palette of neutral tones combines with natural materials and carries into the spacious and calming guest rooms from the lobby.

Relaxed Living

The beauty of a stay at Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island is the sheer number of interconnecting rooms geared towards those travelling with children or in groups. Better yet, all guests registered in the room receive access to one Yas Island Theme Park per day during the duration of their stay.

Whether staying in a suite, interconnecting family room or an executive room, the experience offers high comfort levels and a stay revolving around sheer relaxation. Rooms are generously sized and have either king or twin double beds, in addition to plush furnishing and an abundance of storage space.

Ultra-modern bathrooms feature a perfectly placed tub, illuminated mirrors and an appealing walk-in rainfall shower, where tiles have been placed in a funky zig-zag effect to create a striking visual impact.

The unobtrusive layout, matched with neutral décor in sand and grey hues, offers a feeling of sanctuary and encourages relaxation that is only heightened by the spacious balcony, where views of the swimming pool, beach club and Yas Bay Waterfront take you from day to night.

Destination Dining

Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island features several restaurants that cater to in-house and outside guests searching for a leisurely breakfast, weekend brunch, poolside snack or a relaxed evening dinner.

Under the guidance of Executive Chef John Buenaventura, Graphos Social Kitchen redefines the notion of an all-day-dining restaurant. Instead, it’s a restaurant where the expansive buffet of international favourites is enhanced by live stations and a daily rotation of dishes from across the globe. Expect sushi, dim sum, pasta, garden salads and decadent desserts displayed impeccably across the multi-level restaurant space.

Capila Pool Bar & Grill is ideal for poolside snacks or a cheeky cocktail and features a menu of refreshing salads, poke bowls, flatbreads and charcoal-grilled anticuchos beside the shimmering waters.

Osmo – Lounge and Bar is the place to enjoy a cup of coffee or indulge in an exquisite afternoon tea amidst chic surroundings. The venue is conveniently licensed, making it ideal for sundowners or a late-night tipple (it’s open until 1am).

Aside from the hotel restaurants, Yas Bay Waterfront features a plethora of dining options, including Dubai favourites Akira Dori, Asia Asia, Hunter and Barrel, La Carnita and Lock Stock & Barrel. There’s also the Trilogy by Buddha Bar and Pierre Gagnaire’s Paradiso.

Rest & Relaxation

Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island has been purposefully designed as a family-friendly destination. It offers a sizeable temperature-controlled pool flanked by palm trees for fun in the sun. The resort also boasts one of the most impressive kids clubs in the capital, forgoing the expected video games and movies for an experience centred on active play, arts and crafts and a splash park. All supervised by a dedicated recreation team.

The property also features an eforea spa. This haven for relaxation promotes a range of treatments, including body scrubs, wraps, facials and massages. Of course, we couldn’t resist the popular Rebalance Massage purposefully designed to relieve muscle fatigue and improve sleep. Separate male and female facilities are available for guests pre and post-treatment and feature experience shows in addition to a whirlpool, steam room and sauna.

The current talk of the town, Café del Mar is also on site. The trendy new beach club features music, Mediterranean bites, standout cocktails and a touch of Spanish charm amidst an artificial beach. It’s an adults-only playground where good vibes and ambient music converge to create a one-of-a-kind destination unlike anywhere else in the capital. So whether you’re looking to take a dip in the infinity style pool while riding a giant flamingo inflatable, sip cocktails on the beach or indulge in a meal, Café del Mar brings a touch of Ibiza to the UAE capital.
