Maz Jobrani is returning to Abu Dhabi for a farewell performance. The Iranian-American comedian will take to the Etihad Arena stage on Saturday, 7 November 2026, as part of his Catch Me While You Can tour.

Organisers of the upcoming Abu Dhabi Comedy Season have confirmed that this will be his final show in the capital, as Jobrani steps back to make more time for his family. The announcement follows emergency brain surgery in December 2025, with the comedian having spoken publicly about his health since then.s back almost two decades.

A Tehran-born comedian who grew up in California, Jobrani rose to prominence as a founding member of the Axis of Evil Comedy Tour. The group’s Comedy Central special gave Middle Eastern comedians an international platform and helped establish Jobrani as a distinctive voice in stand-up comedy.

His material draws on immigration, family life and the misunderstandings that can arise between cultures. Those themes run through specials including Brown & Friendly, I Come in Peace, The Birds & The Bees and Netflix’s Immigrant, giving audiences plenty of familiar situations to recognise in his storytelling.

UAE comedy fans have had several chances to see that humour on stage. Jobrani shared a bill with Mo Amer at Etihad Arena in 2023, before joining Bassem Youssef at the inaugural Abu Dhabi Comedy Week in 2024. The November performance adds a farewell chapter to that history.

Away from stand-up, Jobrani’s screen credits include The Interpreter, Friday After Next and 13 Going on 30. He also starred in CBS sitcom Superior Donuts and played Jafar in Disney’s Descendants. His work extends to writing, with the memoir I’m Not a Terrorist, But I’ve Played One On TV. In 2025, he was recognised by the Carnegie Corporation of New York with a Great Immigrants Award.

Tickets to see Maz Jobrani live in Abu Dhabi start from AED 275 and are available now.
