Built in the late 19th century by Sheikh Zayed bin Khalifa the First, Al Jahili Fort served as a symbol of power and a royal summer retreat. Initially, it featured a square fortified enclosure and a distinctive four-storey circular tower. The historic site of Qasr Al Mawaji in Al Ain is a window into the past and a prime example of early 20th-century mudbrick architecture. Built during the reign of Sheikh Zayed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, it later became the residence and administrative hub for the UAE’s Founding Father.
