Hotel Hotspot: V Hotel Dubai, Curio Collection by Hilton

Young, alluring and ultra-modern, V Hotel Dubai, Curio Collection by Hilton is right up our street as far as cool and trendy hospitality goes. If like the FACT team, you love short and sweet doses of life in the fast lane, this modern property was made for the perfect staycation.

We’re pretty sure that you’ll have come across V Hotel Dubai, Curio Collection by Hilton. This trendy five-star property aims to surprise and delight travellers with unique, exciting and rare experiences. You’ll likely have spotted the bright façade on the side of the Dubai Water Canal, replete with dazzling lights as you drive along Sheikh Zayed Road. The hotel also happens to be situated right next to Dubai’s first resident live show, La Perle by Dragone.

Unlike many other hotels in the city, V Hotel Dubai is all about fun! It’s a vibrant property with classy yet funky touches, something you’ll recognise from the moment you step into its lobby. As we whizz up to the 30th floor, which happens to be the location for checking in, you’ll feel a slight jolt of adrenalin, like you’re about to embark on an adventure.

If you like the combination of hot pink, vibrant reds, fluorescent purples and jet black, you’re in luck. V Hotel Dubai is all about creating colour contrasts that stand out, and in the process, create a real powerhouse of slick hospitality that is such fun to be a part of. The décor is stimulating in every way and amps up your energy from the outset. Everywhere you turn, there’s bold design – the hotel’s exterior is flashy with neon lighting outlining the 33-storey building. Even the lifts are super swanky, accompanied by a bold soundtrack of dance tracks and popular hits. Overall, the hotel’s style is a full-on sensory experience.

The Suite Life:

One thing’s for sure: you’ve never been in a more modern, high tech and aesthetically fun room before. With 365 guest rooms and suites, we have the pleasure of residing in a lavish one-bedroom V Suite during our stay. The black-carpeted rooms are massive and very Jetson space-age, making guests feel immediately at home when they walk in.

An open-plan space offers plenty of room for relaxing and recharging, with a sofa area backed with vibrant artworks that seamlessly leads through into the bedroom. The centrepiece of the suite has to be the gigantic circular bed, one of the comfiest we’ve had the pleasure of sleeping in! All the while, you’re surrounded by a tech-loving atmosphere where the lamp is marked TOUCH ME and even the curtains open and close at the push of a button – is there anything in this room that isn’t controlled with such ease and convenience?

You’ll simply love the bold space with its black carpets, white leather upholstery and views that take in the entire city, from the Burj Al Arab on the coast to the heavy traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road. The compartmentalised rainshower and separate restroom add to the whole ‘many dimensions’ effect, while the standalone bathtub adds an element of luxury to the open concept that calls out your inner voyeur.

The fully-equipped mini bar, the sprawling flat screen, tidy work desk, and the plush seating at the foot of the bed help create an incredible feeling of space and comfort and the result is a haven for a well-deserved staycation in the city. A quick video tour of the room and even a picture of the fantastic view overlooking the Dubai Water Canal will make for the most like-worthy InstaStory or TikTok video.

Destination Dining:

Epicurean pleasures, you say? Well, they’ve got all that and more at the V Hotel Dubai. We checked out Summer Place, an authentic Asian spot reminiscent of the Land of the Dragons that soars high above the city on the hotel’s 31st floor. The restaurant offers a selection of Asian specialities such as Peking duck, homemade dim sum, Szechwan chicken, and noodles. Stripped of the usual conformity of fine dining, Summer Place embraces a casual approach with dishes arriving, as they’re ready, instead of following a strictly regimented order, complemented by efficient service from the friendly team. The only thing likely to detract from the food on your plate is that impressive view, and with seating clustered around the floor-to-ceiling windows, there is no bad seat in the house.

We venture to Ribs & Brews, an American Gastropub situated in the Al Habtoor City complex for lunch. The restaurant is cosy and inviting, with booth-style seating laden with cow-hide cushions surrounding rustic tabletops. A menu of flatbreads, burgers, steaks and salad is accompanied by a vast selection of hops, grape and signature mixed drinks that make the venue ideal for dinner, drinks or both! Don’t leave without ordering the pecan pie; the gigantic slice of Americana has to be seen to be believed!

Recreation and relaxation:

The beautiful pool area fulfils both the swimming and tanning needs of adults alongside the fun and super safe elements of being child-friendly and is totally worth a visit. Hop on a sun lounger, grab a cabana or relax in the slender body of water decorated with vibrant blue tiles. Like the hotel’s interiors, the ambience and decor poolside are both funky and convenient. Let the staff take good care of you while sipping on a refreshing beverage as the sun shines high above.

Not only is V Hotel Dubai ideally located within Al Habtoor City – just a few minutes from Downtown and the Burj Khalifa – the whole vibe surrounding the property is buzzing. The hotel’s club-like (but not offensively loud) party music adds to the fun and makes you feel like you’re part of the coolest community in town – if only for a night!
