Dubai’s alfresco season has a new dining address. Casa Playa is now open at Banyan Tree Dubai on Bluewaters Island, serving Latin-inspired food beside the Arabian Gulf. As the summer heat begins to dissipate, its idyllic beachfront setting on Bluewaters Island is perfectly timed for the return of outdoor dining.
The open-air setting lends itself to an evening spent catching up over dinner, whether you’re booking a date night or gathering friends around the table. Sea views add to the appeal, while a menu designed for sharing gives diners plenty of reasons to settle in.

The kitchen draws on several culinary traditions. Peruvian-style ceviche, Mexican tacos, and Argentine-style grills sit alongside Spanish tapas, with citrus, spice, and charcoal cooking tying the selection together. The sharing format encourages guests to explore several dishes, whether they lean towards seafood or something from the grill.
Seafood is a particular focus. The Pearl combines sea bass ceviche, tuna tartare and oysters, accompanied by spiced tomatillo relish and lime. Pulpo a la Brasa pairs charcoal-grilled octopus with smoked potato purée, paprika glaze and charred lemon. For a larger seafood spread, the Casa Playa Grand Catch brings together jumbo prawns, Canadian lobster, and a whole butterflied sea bass on one platter.

Dessert options span Cinnamon Churros served with dark chocolate sauce and dulce de leche, and Tarta de Santiago, a traditional almond cake accompanied by Chantilly cream. Exotic fruits with sorbet offer a lighter alternative to finish the meal.
Music shapes the evenings at Casa Playa. A live music programme provides Latin-inspired DJ sets on Fridays and Saturdays. From Sunday to Thursday, a lively Latin-inspired soundtrack plays, providing a more relaxed atmosphere for dinners with family and friends.

Casa Playa joins a varied restaurant repertoire at Banyan Tree Dubai. Alizée explores French cooking, chef Alvin Leung’s Demon Duck offers creative interpretations of Chinese and Pan-Asian dishes, and Tocha takes the form of a contemporary Japanese tea house. The new arrival adds Latin-inspired beachfront dining to the resort’s creative culinary mix.
