Jada Pinkett Smith has postponed her UAE book tour

The intimate events were expected to dive into her debut memoir, Worthy.

If recent events in pop culture are any indication, Jada Pinkett Smith has lived quite the life. You might know her as the host of the sometimes messy talk show, Red Table Talk. Or the executive producer of the controversial Netflix docuseries, Queen Cleopatra. Or possibly her role in the slap heard around the world. It’s no wonder, then, that the release of her debut memoir, Worthy, is already causing a stir — and UAE audiences were invited to the big event.

The actress was set to bring her Worthy: A Journey with Jada Pinkett Smith world tour to Coca-Cola Arena on 7 November and to W Abu Dhabi – Yas Island on 6 November, to recount her experiences through an intimate conversation around love and self-worth. For the uninitiated, Jada is a Hollywood figure with an unconventional backstory. Raised in Baltimore and married to one of the most famous men on the planet – Will Smith, of course – she has never been one to adhere to the status quo.

Sarah Omolewu, the tour’s producers in the region, announced the tour’s postponement on Instagram: “The Middle East Tour for Jada Pinkett Smith’s New York Times bestselling memoir has been postponed,” Omolewu wrote.

“We’re beyond grateful for your overwhelming support of this tour and looking forward to the new date.”

During the two UAE stops for the tour, Jada was expected to share her journey of navigating complicated, false narratives about her marriage, her family, and herself.
