Shawn Chidiac’s Same Same, But Different comes to Dubai

VOX Cinemas Mercato Mall in Dubai is presenting a show with a difference. The comedian Shawn Chidiac’s Same Same, But Different takes place on 1 June. Tickets to see the My Parents Are Divorced comedian are available now, and here’s how to have a laugh.

The Canadian Lebanese comedian Shawn Chidiac has gained popularity for his social media account, My Parents Are Divorced. He has more than 400,000 followers on Instagram, and describes his account as “jokes that I use to cover up my insecurities”. His humour includes cultural observations on family relationships and impersonations. Plus, he has recently shifted from online comedy to live comedy show and podcast-inspired talks.

Same Same, But Different will take place each month at VOX Cinemas Mercato Mall. Running until the end of the year, it will welcome different guests from the region and ask them questions about their profession. Now in its second edition, Shawn will be joined by two guests: Saudi Arabian photographer and filmmaker Ghassan Luqman, and Egyptian skateboarder Karim Nassar. 

The pair are known for their creativity, and it’s a rare chance to hear them speak. Ghassan is based in Dubai and has more than 39,000 followers on Instagram. Karim is based in Dubai and was the first Arab skateboarder to be sponsored by Nike. 

VOX Cinemas also screens films, from blockbusters to new movies. Plus, it hosts live comedy shows, football matches, concerts and documentaries.

Tickets to see Shawn Chidiac of My Parents Are Divorced are available now. Regular tickets start from AED 175, and VIP tickets start from AED 245.
