Texas in Dubai: Watch the Scottish stars at Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium

Texas are coming to Dubai. No, we’re not talking about BBQ food or cowboys from the American state. Instead, the world-famous Scottish rock band. Texas will be performing at Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium, and here’s how you can watch the show. Texas formed in Glasgow, Scotland in 1986, and have been entertaining us with hits for more than three decades. The band members include lead singer Sharleen Spiteri, bassist, guitarist and keyboardist Johnny McElhone, keyboardist Eddie Campbell, guitarist Tony McGovern and drummer Cat Myers. Plus, if you’re wondering what the group’s name is all about, it was inspired by the Wim Wenders’ film, Paris, Texas. 

Over their career, Texas have sold more than 40 million records. The group’s albums include Mother’s Heaven, Southside, The Hush and White on Blonde. The group’s hit singles include Black Eyed Boy, I Don’t Want a Lover, Inner Smile, Say What you Want and Summer Son. 

Texas have created some unexpected collaborations with the likes of Kardinal Offishall and Wu-Tang Clan. Plus, they have been nominated for five BRIT Awards and two NME Awards. In 1998, they won an Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Song Collection. 

This isn’t Texas’s first time in the UAE. The group have performed in 2015 at Irish Village, and in 2017 at Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium. This time, 

If you want to catch Texas in Dubai, the concert doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 9.30pm. Tickets are on sale now and start from AED 225 for standing ground, and AED 199 for seated grandstand.
