Texas are coming to Dubai. No, we’re not talking about BBQ food or cowboys from the American state. Instead, the world-famous Scottish rock band. Texas will be performing at Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium, and here’s how you can watch the show. Texas formed in Glasgow, Scotland in 1986, and have been entertaining us with hits for more than three decades. The band members include lead singer Sharleen Spiteri, bassist, guitarist and keyboardist Johnny McElhone, keyboardist Eddie Campbell, guitarist Tony McGovern and drummer Cat Myers. Plus, if you’re wondering what the group’s name is all about, it was inspired by the Wim Wenders’ film, Paris, Texas.
Over their career, Texas have sold more than 40 million records. The group’s albums include Mother’s Heaven, Southside, The Hush and White on Blonde. The group’s hit singles include Black Eyed Boy, I Don’t Want a Lover, Inner Smile, Say What you Want and Summer Son.
Texas have created some unexpected collaborations with the likes of Kardinal Offishall and Wu-Tang Clan. Plus, they have been nominated for five BRIT Awards and two NME Awards. In 1998, they won an Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Song Collection.
