The Many Hands dinner takes place at Harummanis.

It’s time for a tasty collaboration. Chef Akmal Anuar and Chef JP have teamed up for a four-hands dinner. On Wednesday, 18 June, Many Hands brings together two of Southeast Asia’s most celebrated chefs. The event takes place at Harummanis in Dubai’s Was1 51.

Singaporean-Malay Chef Akmal Anuar is behind Harummanis, Osteria Funkcoolio and Golfish Sushi & Yakatori. The restaurant is named after the mango, and pays tribute to the chef’s family’s hawker stall in Singapore. Dishes draw inspiration from Malay, and one of the highlights is the six-hour-cooked rendang made with 20 spices. Filipino Chef JP Anglo is behind the FACT Award-winning Kooya Filipino Eatery. He is also behind Sarsa in the Philippines, which offers soulful Filipino flavours.

For one night only, guests will have the opportunity to experience a special dinner that combines the best of both chefs.  Harummanis will welcome Kooya Filipino Eatery’s team to the kitchen. Many Hands draws inspiration from home-cooked meals. Expect food that comes from the heart, which pays tribute to generations before them. The meal is influenced by traditional kamayan feasts and nasi padang tables.

The menu will showcase six dishes, with each chef creating three. Forget about plates, as the meals will be served in an old-school way – banana leaves and by hand. Dishes include Ayam Masak Merah chicken with spicy tomato sauce and chilli, Beef Belly with Burnt Coconut, and Sambal. Plus, dessert is a joint venture, Halo Halo x Ais Kacang.

Many Hands with Chef Akmal Anuar and Chef JP starts from AED 275 per person.
