Sagetsu by Tetsuya Wakuda brings modern Japanese flair to The Link

The concept has been created by renowned Chef Tetsuya Wakuda.

The Link at One&Only One Za’abeel in Dubai has impressed with its dazzling design. Now, FACT has been given a look inside the hotel’s luxury restaurant, Sagetsu by Tetsuya Wakuda. Located on the 24th floor, it has been created by Chef Tetsuya Wakuda.

Born in Shizuoka, Japan, Tetsuya later moved to Sydney, Australia. His restaurants include Tetsuya, Waku Ghin and Wakuda. He is celebrated for his creative approach to cooking, and for using fresh, high-quality ingredients. He combines the precision of Japanese cooking with the techniques of French cooking. Over his career, his restaurants have been awarded MICHELIN Stars, and he was awarded the Order of Australia Medal.

Sagetsu by Tetsuya Wakuda marks Tetsuya’s dining debut in Dubai. The name of the restaurant is inspired by astronomy, as sagetsu refers to the sand and the moon in Japanese. The dining concept draws inspiration from the changing seasons.

Sagetsu by Tetsuya Wakuda’s boasts a sleek and sophisticated design. The entranceway is designed with bamboo and wood, and wows with its views of the skyline and Burj Khalifa. Combining the old and new, it includes traditional influences from Japan with a modern aesthetic. The bar features a table made from natural rock with earthy tones and jutting edges. The clean and contemporary décor includes neutral colours with beige, browns and greys. Plus, a beautiful bonsai tree adds a touch of greenery.

Sagetsu by Tetsuya Wakuda can accommodate up to 84 diners across different spaces. The open kitchen lets you watch the chefs at work. The dining room includes smart, soft sofas, and chairs with wooden accents. The omakase experience is complemented by Insta worthy views of the city. And, if you always have room for dessert, there is a dedicated dessert room.

Sagetsu by Tetsuya Wakuda offers a chef’s tasting menu for AED 800, featuring Flan of King Crab, Carpaccio of Wild-Caught Japanese Bluefin Tuna, Roasted European Langoustine, Lightly Grilled Saroma Wagyu Beff and Chocolate Mousse. For those who prefer to dine a la carte, Sagetsu’s signature dishes include Aburi Wagyu Beef (AED 180), Botan Shrimp (AED 550), Canadian Lobster (AED 680), Hokkaido Scallops (AED 420) and King Crab (AED 390).

The Link at One&Only One Za’abeel is home to multiple dining experiences. Suspended between the two towers, it’s the world’s longest cantilever and is home to the culinary concepts Arrazuna by Mehmet Gürs, DuangDy by Bo.Lan, La Dame de Pic, Qabu, Sphere and Tapasake.

Sagetsu by Tetsuya Wakuda is open daily from 6pm to midnight.
