Dessert takes centre stage this June as TERO, the FACT award-winning fine dining concept from Chef Reif Othman, invites Chef Mohamed Al-Matin for an exclusive two-night takeover. Taking place on 21 and 22 June, this intimate event will see the acclaimed Singaporean chef bring his avant-garde, dessert-forward tasting menu to the UAE for the very first time.
Tucked discreetly inside Reif Japanese Kushiyaki in Dubai Hills Business Park, TERO (The Experience by Reif Othman) is a secret dining space known for boundary-pushing collaborations and multi-course tasting menus. For two nights only, it will play host to Al-Matin’s signature 11-course tasting menu, a daring experience that blurs the lines between sweet and savoury in unexpected ways.
Best known as the creative force behind Le Matin Patisserie and apres in Singapore, Chef Al-Matin has trained under world-class mentors including André Chiang of the MICHELIN-starred Restaurant André and Peter Gilmore of Bennelong at the Sydney Opera House. He also served as Pastry Sous Chef at Noma, frequently hailed as one of the world’s best restaurants. His cuisine is playful yet precise, challenging diners with bold textures and flavours, think kombu tart, grilled Jerusalem artichokes, and desserts laced with savoury surprises.
Each evening will offer just two seatings, making this a rare opportunity for Dubai’s discerning gourmands to experience Al-Matin’s culinary philosophy up close. Tickets are priced at AED 468 per person, with optional wine pairings (AED 388) or tea pairings (AED 188) to elevate the experience even further.
For those unversed with TERO, the experience blends culinary creativity with an intimate and immersive experience. The 12-seater chef’s table is akin to stepping into Reif’s private kitchen, where diners can watch the magic unfold right before their eyes. Past menus have drawn inspiration from the Japanese Cherry Blossom Season, Golden Week and Sushi.
