The new restaurant will open in DIFC.
It’s time to say hola to the Spanish restaurant, Barrafina in Dubai. The FACT Dining Award London nominee is making its way from the UK to the UAE. Scheduled to open before the end of 2025, the new restaurant will be located in DIFC Gate Village 1, with more openings will follow across the Middle East.
Sharing is caring at this tapas restaurant. The concept pays tribute to the owners’ Spanish roots, as the brothers Sam and Eddie Hart were raised in Mallorca. Their parents, Tim and Stefa Hart, own and operate the MICHELIN-starred Hambleton Hall in Rutland, East Midlands.
Barrafina is led by CEO Sam Hart, Managing Director Anna Watkins, and Operations Director Aurelija Sovaite. The Barrafina kitchen is headed by Executive Chefs Antonio González Milla and Francisco José Torrico Sánchez.

In 2007, Barrafina opened its first restaurant on Frith Street in Soho, London. It made its mark as the first non-reservation restaurant to be awarded a MICHELIN Star. Today, Barrafina can be found across London in Adelaide Street, Charing Cross; Borough Yards, London Bridge; Coal Drops Yard, King’s Cross; Dean Street, Soho; and Drury Lane, Covent Garden.
In each Barrafina, guests can find an open kitchen, where they can watch the chefs at work. Book a counter-top seat for a fully immersive experience, and watch the team chop, pour and make small talk. The menu succeeds in its simplicity, and showcases authentic Spanish food, alongside a list of cavas, sherries and wines.
The full menu for Barrafina in Dubai has not yet been unveiled. The menu spans tortillas, seafood, meat, and vegetables. Highlights from the London menu include the Classic Tortilla, crafted with eggs, potatoes, and a generous amount of love.
