Have you been wishing you could revisit the Dubai Expo? Well, Christmas has come early, as you can return to the site for delicious dining experiences and an exciting Christmas-inspired experience. Winter City at Expo City Dubai is teaming up with Disney+ for its 2026 edition, turning Al Wasl Plaza into a festive destination inspired by familiar films and characters. Running from Friday, 11 December to Thursday, 31 December 2026, the event takes the theme Once Upon A Holiday….
Now in its fifth edition, Winter City will feature themed areas drawing on Frozen, Toy Story and Home Alone, alongside Marvel and Disney Princess stories. The collaboration gives families the chance to explore the worlds they usually watch at home, with activities inspired by the films and franchises.
Add some sparkle to the season, and head down for the tree lighting ceremony. The glittering 52-foot Christmas tree is a must-visit sight, as it is expected to take centre stage in the Al Wasl dome. Plus, there are nightly holiday-themed projection shows and falling snow. Little ones can also write letters to Santa and visit his grotto.
Mrs Claus’ Bakery will also return with sweet treats, while outdoor screenings will give film fans the chance to settle in for a festive movie marathon once the sun goes down.
There will also be opportunities to tackle your Christmas shopping. The chalet-style festive market will feature local vendors, with gifts to browse and seasonal food and drinks to enjoy between activities. Plus, there’ll be plenty of ways to get merry, with hot chocolate, mince pies and, of course, mulled drinks.
Winter City opens daily from 4pm to 10pm. General admission costs AED 60, while the Winter City Express Entry Pass is AED 175. Children aged three and under enter free, as do people of determination and one accompanying carer.
Admission includes access to the Disney+ themed experiences, although some workshops may carry an additional charge. The Express Entry Pass provides priority access at the main entrance only.
Festive fun awaits.
