This is your guide to the most beautiful stretches of sand in the city.
Dubai’s coastline has something for every kind of beachgoer. There are secluded spots made for sunset, family-friendly shores packed with activities, beaches where dogs can take a dip and waterfront destinations lined with restaurants and beach clubs. Whether you want to swim beneath the stars, try your hand at watersports or simply spread out a towel and soak up the sunshine, these are 10 of the best beaches in Dubai to have on your radar.
Al Mamzar Beach Park

For a beach day with plenty to do beyond swimming, Al Mamzar Beach Park remains one of Dubai’s best all-rounders. The sprawling coastal park pairs sandy shores with landscaped lawns, swimming pools, barbecue areas, children’s facilities and chalets that can be booked for longer family gatherings. Cycling and sports facilities add to its appeal, while the generous green spaces offer a welcome alternative to Dubai’s more urban beaches. The park is open daily from 8am to 10pm, making it particularly appealing for long, leisurely days by the water.
Black Palace Beach

Sometimes called Secret Beach, Hidden Beach or Al Sufouh Beach, this low-key shoreline feels worlds away from Dubai’s busier coastal destinations. There are no rows of restaurants, beach clubs or rental cabanas here, and that simplicity is precisely the attraction. Visitors come armed with their own umbrellas, water and snacks, then settle in for calm seas and uninterrupted views. Its location between Palm Jumeirah and Burj Al Arab also makes it particularly photogenic around sunset. Facilities are minimal, so this is a beach for those who prefer peace over convenience.
Club Vista Mare

Palm Jumeirah may be known for lavish resorts, but Club Vista Mare offers an intimate way to enjoy the island’s shoreline. The waterfront development has private beach access alongside a collection of restaurants overlooking the eastern side of the Palm. Spend the afternoon on the sand, cool off in the Arabian Gulf and follow it with lunch or dinner just steps from the water. Current dining options include Lebanese seafood favourite Ibn Albahr and colourful Italian beach restaurant Limonata and The MAINE Beach House, making Club Vista Mare particularly appealing for anyone who wants to combine swimming with a long seaside meal.
Dubai Islands Beach

Dog owners have an especially good reason to make the journey to Dubai Islands Beach. The developing waterfront destination is one of the city’s most pet-friendly stretches of coastline, with dogs permitted to enjoy the sand and a dedicated area where four-legged visitors can swim. There is also plenty here for humans, from swimming and leisurely walks to watersports and games on the sand. The atmosphere remains relatively relaxed compared with Dubai’s established beachfront districts, giving the beach an appealing sense of space while the wider Dubai Islands destination continues to take shape.
J1 Beach

The former La Mer shoreline has been transformed into J1 Beach, a destination where a day beside the Arabian Gulf can easily stretch into dinner and drinks. Located in Jumeirah 1, the beachfront is now lined with internationally recognised restaurants and clubs, giving this section of coast a decidedly social character. African Queen, Bâoli Dubai, Gigi Rigolatto, Gitano and Sirene Beach by Gaia are among the current residents. Add dedicated beachfront spaces, swimming pools and sunset views, and J1 Beach works particularly well for those who prefer their beach days with a side of dining and nightlife.
Jebel Ali Public Beach

Head south of the city and Dubai’s coastline becomes noticeably wilder. Jebel Ali Public Beach swaps skyscrapers and beach clubs for open sand, fewer crowds and a more natural setting, making it a refreshing option when you want some breathing room. The shoreline is also distinctive for its caravan culture, with Dubai Municipality continuing to issue free permits for caravan and trailer camping for up to 30 days. Major plans are underway to develop Jebel Ali Beach into a 6.6-kilometre recreational destination, but its current appeal lies largely in its relative simplicity and sense of escape.
Jumeirah Public Beach (Nessnass Beach)

Watersports are the main draw at Nessnass Beach, where wind and open water have made the shoreline popular with kitesurfers, windsurfers, paddleboarders and kayakers. The beach, officially known as Jumeirah Public Beach, has a more laid-back personality than Dubai’s highly developed waterfront destinations, with plenty of space to settle down between activities. It is also part of the Jumeirah coastline with designated night-swimming facilities, allowing beachgoers to make the most of cooler temperatures after sunset. For food afterwards, Jumeirah Fishing Harbour and its restaurants are only a short drive away.
Kite Beach

Few stretches of sand capture Dubai’s active lifestyle quite like Kite Beach. The popular Jumeirah spot attracts runners, swimmers, cyclists and watersports enthusiasts, while families have plenty of reasons to linger throughout the day. Facilities include a cycling track, showers, changing areas, Wi-Fi, wheelchair services and beach equipment rentals. Volleyball courts and fitness facilities keep things energetic, while the shoreline is backed by casual food options for post-swim refuelling. The combination of Burj Al Arab views, a sociable atmosphere and excellent facilities explains why Kite Beach remains one of Dubai’s most dependable choices for a full day outdoors.
Palm West Beach

Sunset is the star attraction at Palm West Beach. Stretching along Palm Jumeirah’s western shoreline, the beach looks across the water towards Dubai Marina and transforms from morning fitness spot to lively dining destination as the day progresses. Visitors can swim, walk or exercise along the waterfront before settling into one of the many restaurants and beach clubs. February 30, Koko Bay, Kyma Beach and Surf Club line the waterfront, while The Club is home to venues including Sān Beach and Maison de la Plage. Pets are also welcome, adding to the shoreline’s relaxed appeal.
The Beach, JBR

Few Dubai beaches place quite so much entertainment within easy reach of your towel. Sitting opposite Bluewaters and Ain Dubai, The Beach at JBR combines a broad sandy shoreline with watersports, sun loungers, family attractions, shops and a huge choice of places to eat. More than 20 watersports activities are available, while Sea Breeze offers loungers, cabanas and day beds for those who would rather relax. Behind the sand, restaurants range from Rosa’s Thai Café and L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele to Aprons and Hammers. It is busy, energetic and unmistakably Dubai.
