MICHELIN loves the UAE, and we love MICHELIN. The launch date for the fifth MICHELIN Guide Dubai has been confirmed for Tuesday, 6 October 2026.

The MICHELIN Guide Dubai 2026 will be unveiled in true UAE style at Atlantis The Royal, capturing the city’s flair and elegance. The special event will feature gastronomic experiences while revealing the new additions in a city that is an epicurean kaleidoscope.

When the MICHELIN Guide Dubai 2025 was revealed, the city reached a major culinary milestone. A total of 19 restaurants received MICHELIN Stars, comprising 14 restaurants with One MICHELIN Star, three with Two MICHELIN Stars and, for the first time in Dubai, two restaurants with Three MICHELIN Stars.

The restaurants awarded One MICHELIN Star were 11 Woodfire, Al Muntaha, avatāra, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, Hakkasan, Hōseki, Jamavar, La Dame de Pic Dubai, Manāo, Moonrise, Orfali Bros, Ossiano, Smoked Room and Tasca by José Avillez. Jamavar and Manāo were the two new additions to the category.

Three restaurants retained Two MICHELIN Stars: Il Ristorante – Niko Romito, Row on 45 and STAY by Yannick Alléno. However, the biggest development came at the top of the rankings. FZN by Björn Frantzén entered the guide with Three MICHELIN Stars, while Trèsind Studio was promoted from two to three, becoming the first Indian restaurant in the world to receive MICHELIN’s highest distinction.

Now entering its fifth edition, the MICHELIN Guide Dubai 2026 will once again bring chefs, restaurateurs, industry figures and media together to reveal the latest selection. Once the 2026 selection has been announced, the evening will continue with a reception showcasing restaurants recognised by MICHELIN. Participating chefs include representatives from Row on 45, which currently holds Two MICHELIN Stars in Dubai, avatāra and Hōseki, which each hold One MICHELIN Star, and Bib Gourmand restaurant Berenjak. Italy’s Glass Hostaria, which holds One MICHELIN Star in the MICHELIN Guide Italy 2026, will also participate.

The history of the MICHELIN Guide

MICHELIN’s distinctions remain among the most recognised benchmarks in global gastronomy. One MICHELIN Star denotes high-quality cooking that is worth a stop, Two MICHELIN Stars recognise excellent cooking worth a detour, while Three MICHELIN Stars are reserved for exceptional cuisine worth a special journey. The Bib Gourmand, meanwhile, highlights restaurants delivering quality cooking at a more accessible price point.

Restaurants are assessed anonymously according to five universal criteria: ingredient quality, mastery of cooking techniques, harmony of flavours, the personality expressed through the cuisine, and consistency across visits and the menu.

The MICHELIN Guide itself dates back to 1900, when brothers André and Édouard Michelin launched it in France to encourage motorists to travel. Restaurant Stars were introduced in 1926, before the now-familiar three-star hierarchy followed in the early 1930s. Today, the guide spans destinations around the world and remains one of the restaurant industry’s most influential measures of culinary achievement.

MICHELIN, our stomachs are rumbling.
