World Art Dubai celebrates its 10th anniversary

World Art Dubai welcomes more than 400 artists from more than 65 countries.

World Art Dubai, the region’s largest affordable contemporary retail art fair, is returning for its 2024 edition with an incredible roster of local and international established and emerging artists from 2 to 5 May 2024 at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).

The event acts as an important platform for emerging artists attending their first fair, urban artists searching for a space to allow their creativity to flow, and established international artists flying in specifically to exhibit to the region’s diverse audience.

With more than 400 artists and galleries from over 65 countries displaying upwards of 4,000 pieces, the event — that’s been running for a decade now — sees a wide cross-section of disciplines come together under one roof, including mixed media, fashion, music, dance, sustainability, digital art, photography, graffiti, sculptures and more.

Visitors at World Art Dubai’s 10th edition will get access to 12 pavilions, representing various countries such as Japan, India, China, Turkey, Iran, America, Asia, Russia, UAE, Europe, the UK and Saudi Arabia. Featuring experiential art activations, live performances, curated art talks and workshops, you’ll get a chance to experience tons of activities throughout this four-day event.

World Art Dubai

This year, World Art Dubai is bringing the WAD Tourism Art Tour. This tailor-made experience is for all exhibitors, taking them on curated guided tours of interactive art across the emirates, showing all that the region has to offer.

Artists exhibiting at World Art Dubai include local star, Hend Rashid, making a triumphant return this year. Other artists include Ahmed Bouzeraa from Belgium, whose art dives deep into the cosmos and human existence; Mikhail Danilyuk; whose work with watercolour is magical; Mina from the UK; who brings light and shadows to life in her pieces; and a lot more.

Having been a central element of the show in recent years, Urban Art DXB is returning this year, too, with brand-new performances and competitions. Led by Ahmed Al Rashid, the incredible Kuwaiti street artist and art director, the expanded area will hold unique art displays for purchase, as well as live graffiti performances with masters of the spray can battling it out on a range of canvases.

World Art Dubai is on the hunt for the next big thing in the art world. The WAD Future Artis competition will invite schools to join in and create art on the theme of Expressions of Emotions. Aspiring artists are expected to pour their hearts out onto the canvas, expressing everything from pure joy to heart-wrenching sadness.

Powerhouses Batool Jafri, Samar Kamel and Gottfried Eisenberger, will curate the 2024 show, ensuring visitors a smooth visual journey. Batool and Jafri will also exhibit their own work at the show whereas Gottfried will share his insights as a curator.

World Art Dubai will be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, Halls 1 to 3 from 2 to 5 May 2024 between 1pm and 9pm each day. Tickets cost AED 25 for adults and AED 15 for children.
