Banksy’s immersive exhibition opens at Dubai’s Theatre of Digital Art

Banksy: Art of the Rebel creates a 360-degree artistic experience.

The world’s most famous street artist is back: Banksy is in Dubai. Well, his artwork. While we won’t see his face, we will see his renowned pieces. Banksy: Art of the Rebel takes place at Theatre of Digital Art, and runs from 16 March to 30 June.

Banksy: Art of the Rebel promises to be a 360-degree, immersive experience. Visitors will feel like they are stepping into the artwork, as fifty pieces will be projected on the walls. This is a rare opportunity to view the artwork close-up, and in a different light.

Banksy is famous for his comical as well as controversial art work, which seem to appear overnight on the streets. In the 1990s, the British artist first came to fame with his work in Bristol, England. Since then, his pieces have appeared across the globe. Throughout his career, he has tried to keep his identity a secret, and lets the art do the talking.

Banksy’s most famous pieces include Flower Thrower, Laugh Now and Show me the Monet. Plus, Balloon Girl, which first appeared as a mural on Waterloo Bridge and was later sold – and shredded – at Sotheby’s London.

This isn’t the first Banksy exhibition in Dubai. In 2021, The World of Banksy: The Immersive Experience took place at Mall of the Emirates, and bought together 120 pieces of art.

Tickets for Banksy: Art of the Rebel are on sale now. The show runs daily from 10am to 10pm, and tickets start from AED 95 for adults, AED 65 for children and family packages are available.
